Just show the value of the ancient art,:(,don regard me as a relics smuggling.Look at the price of the anicent painting, the western regard it as a treasure.

The reason why K-pop is more popular, my personal view is, their music and dance style is very westernized. Which makes audiences of all the world no hard to enjoy them. While on the other hand, Chinese songs contain Chinese culture ingredients. Most westerner couldn't comprehend them. But I think there is no problem for Japanese or Vietnamese to accept Chinese songs.

Is this Tang dynasty band create a Chinese version of the The Internationale right ? That Paradise song is nice, the rest is so-so

When I was traveling in Vietland, I noticed what they were watching, those damn boring Chinese soapies from those county-level channels. They are too poor to buy our province-level channel soapies.

Many of those movies were given free by Chinese government or sell at very cheap price anyway, same with S.Korea.
S.Korea government offer loan, market, training and investment, in return show some of their country Drama and promote good image of S.Korea
Also Chinese government offer loan but it must use materials from China for the project, if something gone wrong it delay for too long and increase the cost. The case of Ha Noi MRT lines 2A under construction since 2013, trial was supposed to begin this years but delay to 2017 instead

Wrll its true that S.Korean and Japan lead Asia when it comes to cultural influence. However unlike esolve, i dont think its ppssoble for China to copy S.koreas worldwide pop sucess. Since the two societies are dofferent cilturally so one thing that applies to china doesnt necessarily applies to Korea. So China will do better by learning some lessons and selectively picking the good things which it things better suits its own environment, than nlindly copying Koreas sucess.

Its true theres no shame in learning from others when you lag behind, all countries in the world did. In this regard i admire esolve point about learning from others. I dont see why some chinese members here try to denigrate Koreas sucess in this field. That seems more like bitterness for lagging behind, especially considering the difference in size. So its understandable. However that doesnt means you people should start claiming Japanese anime and Koreas pop music,/dramas are so sucessful/ruling Asia because they copy western culture. Thats just being bitter to be honest. Give credit when due and learn. If it was China who was in koreas position of having its music/dramas beibgbso sucessful in Asia and even the world, rhen im sure many chinese here wont be saying the same thing. Lol They will be singing their praise. :enjoy:

Cantonese culture could have enjoyed expansion and popularity if it is not focused to please Chinese mainland. Cantonese music and drama used to very big in Vietnam because of similarity in culture, life style, myth and look of actors, actress. Vietnamese audiences watched Cantonese drama is like watching their home grow entertainment.

That is understandable because Vietnamese and Cantonese were under one kingdom before the Han conquest and only separated since the Song of china. While mandarin mainland Chinese was foreign culture to Vietnamese.

Chinese music and drama are hugely popular in Vietnam, not just those from Hong Kong. What similarity do you share with Cantonese? Vietnamese are Mon-Khmer people, Cantonese are Han Chinese who live in Canton. Vietnamese language is Mon-Khmer, Cantonese is Sinitic. Two completely different people, language and culture. Wanting to be similar is not the same as similar. Your adoption of some Chinese culture is called, Sinicization, not similarity.

And you Vietnamese were sinicized by Cantonese, the Southern Han overlord whom you fought against for independence. Remember Battle of Bach Dang? LOL, complex ridden Vietnamese love to identify with the people who ruled and sinicized them.

Cantonese was one of bai (100) yue, native people in Nan Yue guo. only one part of them mixed with Han chinese who came from north China. So why Cantonese and Mandarin is two varieties are not mutually intelligible because of pronunciation in daily speaking.

Bayiue are extinct thousand year ago, their closest relative today are Zhuang ethnic who speak Tai-Kadai. Both Cantonese and Mandarin are Sinitic, evolved at different era from Old Chinese, intelligibly is bound to be compromised. (English from Shakespeare era is unintelligible to English speakers today. Within England, Scouser dialect cannot be understood by many in the South) In any case, Cantonese is not related to Vietnamese. You are Mon-khmer people. It's amazing that PDF Vietnamese want to identify with their overlord who sinicized them.

I encourage some posters here to return to kpop and kimchi, instead of continuing with nonsense. It bores the audience.

Vietnamese and Cantonese we are in two different ethnic group, or two different race of people. It is clear, no disputed here.
My countryman @DaiViet said about similarities in culture and others things related to the history in the past, it is not about bloodline, or and Cantonese language and Vietic languages. It is totally different,

Your comment is applied for Cantonese.

I stop here.

There has never been any dispute, Kinh Vietnamese and Han Chinese of Canton are two different ethnic. One is Mon-Khmer, the other is Sinitic. It's the complex ridden Vietnamese that fantasised to be brethren of the people who civilized them. This is evidenced not just by DaiViet post, but also your pertinent obsession with Chinese people. Even the mod knows.

My comment refers to non-sinitic people, that's Vietnamese.

What school do you go to? Simple question. Is mon-khmer an ethnic? Yes, no, maybe?
