If Pakistan is relaxed and have faith in India's good intentions, then it should not worry and let India do whatever it can. For the first time even common Indian is aware of Indus water as weapon. Till date punishing Pakistan meant militarily. For the first time it has hit the headlines like never before and can become election issue. India cannot afford a war but has this safe option to play with the water. Pakistan can run to the court. The situation will not improve and can only worsen for Pakistan, the 3rd most water starved country as per the IMF. Already. Hence couple of decades later with advanced civil engineering, global warming and retreating glaciers will take to interesting times.

Not if it can build enough reservoirs to store all the water which goes into the sea during the monsoons. Same with India. So much of flood water is wasted. India has 5100 dams while China has 23000 dams. Pakistan has only 163 dams.

You people would be surprised at how insignificant discharge from Tibet is for Brahmaputra. If Pakistanis or Chinese try to play this "China will block Brahmaputra" card, hit them on face with this data. Of the 19800 Cumecs average discharge of Brahmaputra, water from China account for less than 500 Cumecs.

PS: Brahmaputra enters India just after Tsela Dzong. After this point it it goes into 16.8m/km steep fall before entering India, and creating a gorge in the process.
