The EU needs Russia more than vice versa.

The E. Ukr separatist Strelkov will go to Russia where he will start a civil war against Putin supported by nationalists.Amidst the chaos Russian oligharchs will call NATO troops for protection.These troops will seize Russian nuclear weapons ,than they will divide Russia with China.Autonomous,but EU/Chinese controlled republics would be created.

Technically, Tibet attempted to gain independence right after the 1911 Revolution which overthrew the Qing dynasty. China fought to get Tibet back and maintained China's territorial integrity.

Yet China is a Permanent member of the Security Council. China had the chance to support Russia's position in Crimea, would would have added weight to the Russian legation's position. But China did not vote in confidence with Russia, and neither did China vote in confidence with the west. Rather she abstained.

The reason for this is because China knows the consequences of taking sides, in regards to secession doctrine.

We are discussing about Crimea, not about the Gaza Conflict. Do stay in subject when discoursing with me. You have a trend of circling around the topic when proven wrong.

Russian troops are in Crimea. And that's a fact. Whether China votes for or against or abstains makes absolutely no difference.
