The supporters of the Iranian opposition movement, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), torched the large and newly dedicated statue of Qassem Soleimani on Wednesday night in Shahrekord, Iran.

Soleimani, the commander of the terrorist Al Quds Force, was killed in a US drone strike last year in Baghdad, Iraq. Soleimani was the mass murderer of the MEK members and the people of Iraq and Syria.

The statue in Shahrekord, was torched at 9:30 pm local time on Wednesday. His statue was unveiled Wednesday morning in the presence of officials of the clerical regime with great fanfare. Several hours later, however, it was set ablaze.

We received the report from a source in Iran. Al-Arabiya also reported on the torching.

A statue erected to honor slain Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani has been torched by unknown assailants hours after it was unveiled, Iranian media reported Thursday.
Soleimani, who headed the Quds Force, the foreign operations arm of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, was killed on January 3, 2020 in Iraq in a US drone strike at Baghdad airport along with his Iraqi lieutenant and others.
On Wednesday morning, a statue to honor him was unveiled in the southwestern Iranian city of Shahrekord.
But in the evening it was set on fire, ISNA news agency said, calling it a “shameful act by unknown individuals.”
“This treacherous crime was carried out in darkness, just like the other crime committed at night at Baghdad airport,” when Soleimani was killed, senior Muslim cleric Mohammad Ali Nekounam said in a statement carried by ISNA.
Iranian authorities have unveiled several sculptures dedicated to Soleimani since his assassination two years ago, and portraits of the revered commander dot the landscape across Iran.
State broadcaster IRIB condemned the latest attack as an “insulting” act, that comes as Iran marks the second anniversary of Soleimani’s killing, with several events in recent days.
On Thursday, thousands of Iranians also paid tribute to 250 “unknown martyrs” killed in the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war.
Ceremonies were held across the country, AFP reporters and state media reported.
“We are always suffering from the loss of martyrs, like Hajj Qassem (Soleimani), because they all fought on the frontlines with their heart,” Ali Asghar, a mourner in Tehran, said.

So, those individuals who "don't understand the Iranian regime" because it inaugurated a statue of a national hero, and because according to them Islam prohibits any and all forms of statues, should be equally puzzled and bewildered at all these other Muslim (and actually Sunni majority) countries which have no problems whatsoever erecting statues to represent various types of figures. Else, they might want to verify what Islamic teachings have to say about double standards and selective finger pointing.

Let's not even get into some of the bizarre, questionable measures taken by the Saudi regime in relation to one of Islam's main tenets, namely the hajj pilgrimage (including preventing Muslims from effectively pelting with stones the three obelisk-type pillars representing devils during the Rami al-Jamarat procession, since they had walls built all around each of these pillars).

In latest news, the openly zionist residents have begun "liking" their comments... Arab regimes (backed by non-Arab sympathizers) and their alliance with (or rather, their subservience to) zionism and the USA displayed in broad daylight, even here at this forum. Next thing you know, they'll be claiming we are the ones to get along with the zionists in some sort of a "secret alliance" they dream up in their Hollywood- and video game-conditioned minds... pathetic and insane for sure, but such are Iran's enemies. Iran has truly struck each and every one of their nerves, both of the zionists and of their vassals and patsies. To watch them fume in anger and disorientation at Iran's prowess is a sight worth contemplating, again and again.

Except that Erdogan has essentially been basing his regional strategy on Islamic-oriented politics and discourse. So please go tell all these "jihadi" armed groups Turkey has been supporting, arming and training that the Turkish state "hates Islam" as you literally put it. Secondly, none of these secular regimes would accept the charge that they're violating Islamic principles. Actually in most of these countries, all of which happen to be US allies and a good number of which have normalized / are in the process of normalizing relations with Tel Aviv, opening your mouth a bit too much on the topic might cause you to disappear in some dungeon and be subjected to abuse. Thirdly, I'm not "complaining" but I responded to another user, in case you didn't notice. In my view there's no absolute prohibition of statues as per Islamic rules - they become an issue only if people begin actually worshiping said statues or the persons they depict.

It's because Islamic Iran and her allies and partners are the only adversaries of the illegitimate zionist occupation regime in the real world. All other states in the region, let alone so-called "jihadi" groups like those we saw destabilizing Iraq, Syria and Libya, have long abandoned the Palestinian cause and thrown their supposed "brothers" under the bus. Destroying Muslim nations at the behest of their zionist and American patrons is the only option they're left with.

Hence why the focus of resident, trained zionist activists is nearly 100% on Iran - much like the regime they support and/or are working for.

The only reason Iran is in conflict with Israel is cause the mullahs wills it for their own propaganda purposes, you hardly deserve a medal for it.

Nor for your activities in Lebanon , Iraq ,Syria and Yemen.

Nope, as an Iranian who is neutral i despise Israel. Many Iranians realize now that it is not about the ''mullahs'' as you try to claim. The real story is the hegemony. Israel wants to be the number 1 undisputed leader in the Middle East with their imported Eastern European Jews and American weaponry. The only country that has balls to challenge this and suffer the onslaught is Iran. So of course you will spread propaganda. But there are always some traitors inside and outside who can ride your wave and claim some popularity. The majority of Iranians side with their country against any foreign agressor. So, tell these ''mullah'' stories to your fellow semite cousins in the Arabian deserts. So, take this from a nationalist Iranian : We will support any government in power in Iran against any foreign agressor.
