Sino-Pak Relations as US-Pak Tensions Rise

Why are Indians so excited about it. The Chinese pulled out due to law and order situation and can be convienced to come back if the situation improved. The worsening situation is off-course a creation of our enemies and hence they are jumping up and down so hard in excitement.

well, it is high time Pakistan should rely on Pakistan, the nation should rely on itself rather than look for somebody else. A bit of help is OK, but dependency is not good.

i hope pakistani leader listen your point , Pakistan army and Pakistani leader are making common peoples fool from 1947

change in policy required

The bottom line is, the Chinese are in the business of doing business. They have never been generous donors of aid to Pakistan, and they likely do not want to fill the role the United States currently plays towards Pakistan with billions of dollars of multi-year assistance agreements.

:) Pakistan does NOT need generous donors we need strong, honest ally that could help Pakistan strengthen its defence as well as development projects sans any strings attached to it. and China is one such ally who is supporting Pakistan without conventionalizing it unlike those generous donors.

China has been looking to expand road and rail links through Pakistan in addition to numerous other investment projects, but it has not been willing to overlook Pakistan’s risky political and security situation.

That is quiet sensible approach and good for China-Pakistan relations since anti-Pakistan stinking elements had been targeting Chinese workers in Pakistan to destabilize Pak-China relations.

Pakistan continues to delude itself if it thinks it will ever be able to replicate with China the opportunities the United States has so far been willing to provide.

We dont need to replace anyone with any other since Pak-US relations are need based from both sides whereas Pak-China relations are more strategic ones wherein we both trust each other and confer this trust in matter of sensitive issues.

Nationalistic fervor and a sense of wounded pride are swelling in Pakistan in response to the latest fracas with the United States, and calls to break ties with America altogether are growing stronger. But Pakistan’s military and political elite had better be realistic about its impending isolation before they tell the United States “it’s time to see other strategic partners.”[/U]

 the first line shows frustration which anti-Pakistan elements are feeling after Pakistan Army consulted Pakistani political parties after recent US threats.

JanaJi: Please very clear that China is not supporting Pakistan out of the goodness of its "heart". It is doing so because such a policy supports its national interests, just like any other country would.

Pakistan does need donors. For a small country, Pakistan has enough resources to be a thriving economy within Asia. We don't need to replace America with anyone. What we must do is stand on our own feet, and until there is a revolution within the country like Imran Khan said, we will have to be dependent on the so called "Big Players".

Exactly, it is just embarrassed to see our begging leaders goes to China immediately after OBL raid. Lol. However, I don't think we Pakistanis understood the meaning of standing up on our own feets due to same habits of sixty five years.

well i think chinees

China is an ally, but we can't be totally dependent on China let alone anyone else.

American government is very stubborn and very arrogant and just cares about its own interests.

In today's politics, Pakistan and U.S. have very few mutual interests so dont expect U.S. to be so kind with Pakistan. Soviet threat is gone. Now all of a sudden "terrorist" threat. Give me a break!!!

China and Pakistan will have the same interests until there is an India on the world map.

When china said pakistan is it's Israel I hope policy makers shuddered with fear, the interests of no two countries ever align.

China does not equal Pakistan, we can use them sure, but rely on them - that can only be a short term strategy.

I see no evidence of long term planning.

very well said..Chinese are in business mode right now and they only and only think business and nothing else

Nice stereotype.

For your information, our minds are not solely geared towards business, nor are we one single monolithic entity that all think alike.

And anyway, business is only one part of national interests.

Omar 1984.

CHINA AND INDIA ARE trading to tune of $100 billion per year combined...

AND pakistan is sitting outside looking in like a child with no money

PAKISTAN has created its own mess. AND it will leave the nation on its knees esp if the USA isolate them.

The people, generals of your country need to grow up and start to stand up on your own 2 feet
