Should the United States continue to give foreign aid to India?

Lol..good one. But I am not giving my opinion. I'm quoting our current Foreign Aid Policy. Except for the US part..everything else is already happening.

The aid programs disbursed in countries like India and China that do nothing in return for the United States are primarily done to gain a foothold in their domestic markets and political systems.It's in the interest of the United States and the west in general to keep such programs alive for maintaining some sort of minimal presence in the region.In turn,they seek profitable shares in our economic zones.

That being said,the programs aren't enforced and can be rolled back at anytime the Americans or Britons deem fit.

That's exactly my point, the 'aid' can be labeled anything but aid. We all know the politics that these seemingly righteous and magnanimous foreign aids have concealed within them. Thats why I said 'illogical' for the world community to consume, and 'hypocritical' for those who make a display of their largess. Its like handing over gold shakles on a silver plater

If i recall we gave $2 billion loan for EU bailout , not aid.

Yes! we do have aid program for Africa , Afghanistan etc.

India already gets beg, IMF, World Bank and ADB aid, US and Europe aid is a icing on the cake.

Gosh it is so difficult to educate these functionally illiterates idiots.They are not conversant even with basic economic facts.

IMF Function of IMF is to provide loans to member countries who are facing a balance of payment crisis on fulfillment of certain Austerity conditions.The loan has to be repaid in full with interest that is dependent on member's previous contribution.There is no interest on withdrawl upto the limit of the contribution that has been made by member and after that it is dependent on the country from whose Quota the money is coming.IMF is required as a country facing severe BoP crisis cannot raise funds from market.

Word Bank and ADB They provide long term loans to developing countries for developmental purposes.These loans sometime carry a rate of Interest(albeit low) and have to be paid back.

These morons cannot distinguish between aid and loan.Probably because Pakistan is world's biggest aid seeker these India haters draw some semblance of equality by counting loan as aid.

I dont say that India has grown up and doesnt take aid, yes we may have taken aid, but we were able to use atleast 10-40% of it for useful purpose and make an image of prosperty. But incase of pakistan all the aid is taken away by the elites & people are suffering futher more pakistan is in a trap that now their taking aid with the life of their people and army , that is pathetic and at the end US says pakistan is not doing enough -- how many military persons had been killed due to this war against terrorism, just count it

What a contradiction. On one hand India says "we don't need aid" and on the other hand India takes the aid anyways.

No country is pointing a missile at India forcing her to accept the aid so why is India still taking the aid when she doesn't need it ?
