Should Pakistan give up on Afghanistan?

Afghanistan is a head Ache for its neighbors, the peace in Afghanistan will surely be good for us, but its a fact that right now We are fighting the same people who are fighting Americans, the Islamists in Afghanistan are a big problem right now no one is seeing a way out of this mes, it will better for Pakistan to meddle & eliminate the mess that is there in Afghanistan, ISAF loosing in Afghanistan will be a big disaster for Pakistan so there's no point in giving up over Afghanistan
Plus the way Indians are showing their so called altruistic motives in Afghanistan its pretty much evident that they want to use the old enmity Afghans have for Pakistan as a whole, There was never really a fully functional Government in Afghanistan that was with Pakistan so we need to counter the mess of militants as well as make sure that Afghanistan does not become another border head ache for Pakistan by making sure that any Government in Afghanistan is Pro-Pak

Unfortunately Afghanistan aint gona change .. When ultimately the Isaf will withdraw all the other entities like Saudis ,Iranians ,Russians and Indian will rush in to fill the gape and the game will continue . The best thing which can happen to Afghanistan is ISAF should be replaced by an International Muslim Peacekeeping force comprising of armies from Saudia Arabai Turkey Pakistan Iran etc under a UN mission but nobody's gona buy that.

Trying to fence the Pak-Afghan border and trying to fence an ocean are the same. This concept is already very archaic. This also demonstrates contempt towards a neighbour. We have to solve all issue in civilized a manner so that the result can benefit people of both countries.

Pakistan needs to go into Afghanistan and create a 100 mile buffer zone -

The borders need to be fenced , and patroled by UAV , and no trucks should be allowed into Pakistan from Afghanistan.


Ideally Pakistan should just make Afghanistan a 5th province and just integrate Afghanistani into Pakistan

And that way we can go in and burn all the opume and drugs in Afghanistan borders

And establish a road from Gwadar to Kabul

A stable afghanistan is good for Pakistan...we can have trade and other activities but Afghanistan need to finish the indian influenece and indian terrorist element tht are using afghan soil to spread terrorism in our country...

Then why is NATO in there?

No matter how you may wish to dress it up, NATO is in Afghanistan to influence the direction of Afghanistan and its government, in an attempt to protect the perceived interests of NATO member nations.

If you read back to the earlier posts in this thread, you will find the 'perceived interests of Pakistan', that Pakistan wishes to protect by influencing Afghanistan.

I don't know why we feel so scared of Afghanistan being controlled by India - Let them do whatever they want - We should form an alliance with America root out the Taliban and if later on Afghanistan territory is used against us we can bomb it just as Turkey Bombs Northern Iraq and we can always put a blockade on Afghanistan from our side which would literally cripple Afghanistan - so i don't see fear.Afghanistan is like a little baby even if backed by India it cannot do much harm to Pakistan.

We cannot allow india to control afghanistan in any case. If india establishes control over afghanistan it will start agression againt Pakistan from the westeren sides, so we will have to deploy our army on the westren borders as well which is long border and to much expensive to deploy millitary. As India has no land link with Afghanistan so principly i can not control afghanistan.

As far as Taliban are concerned they were created by US to avert the russian invasion.
