New Recruit
They were given to the Infantry ...not to the SSG ...can you prove me otherwise wrong for providing me with a pic or link of what you say ?Over a hundred of these were given to SSG... seems nobody wanted smaller calib..
M4 is alright, but Pakistan needs a rifle with durability in mind.
what is wrong with the AK-74U?

army will not change the rifle instead they will modify it...g3 with shorter barrel, shorter fore grip, side folding polymer/plastic stock and a rail for scope or dot sights.it is still in 7.62x51..
Americans and nato allies were working on 6.8 MM with lighter and as good power as 7.62 no idea about status of programme.
As far as I know, SSG worships Type-56 ...Zarrar's are using M-4 ....few are using Styer AUG ...But G-3 saga with the SSG is long gone ....they might have tested it and have sent their feedback to the rustic minds in POF but they never adopted it when POF started milling out Type-56 !I can't find the exact link (using my cell) but here is an old source :
"Pakistan's industry joins international competition for new NATO-standard rifle"
We're given to SSG and light infantry for testing.
Would provide you the link tommorow .
Why AK-74U?? US and West don't like Russian rifles and call them obsolete and useless against modern soldier rifle.
Why not PA go for SCAR or Heckler & Koch HK417?
