with THE US leaving afganistan there must be a surplus of these weapons laying around if a few pak army units can get this it would make a big impact. i'm not saying enough to arm 500,000 but enough for 10-12,000 troops on the front lines.

I'd feel sorry for the Pakistani Army units who would get issued M4s because of its Jamming problems and the fact it shoots pellets.

M4 is suitable for Spc Ops units but not as an infantry rifle. The US Army has had trouble with these rifles in the field as well as with the 5.56mm round.

Pakistan should go for license production of HK-417A2 or FN-SCAR-H for the long term replacement of G-3 battle rifles as well as the MG-5 aka HK-121 to replace the old MG-3.

Our side arms(sarsilmaz bt-6 and st9) are pretty good and standardized all over, we urgently need to replace G3 with a good modern durable rifle something in the lines of Israeli tavor's equivalent like HK 417 or MPT-76, The MP-5 also need to be replaced with something like the MP-7 or Bretta M-12 , The MG 3 needs to be replaced by either the HK-121 or Fn maximi, The snipers are also pretty good and being standardized mostly by the range master. We also need new combat knifes which i dont think we have at all
