Yeah, they have a nice modern feel to them. Definitely look lighter and more polished than the G3 or AK. I have held an AK and G3 but not these ones.

Mainly because of the ergonomics, polymers and overly-stylized design that cause problems with the barrel - they focused too much on making it futuristic and now it's having problems, though they'll probably solve them sooner or later.

we need to choose FN SCAR
Either that or HK 416/417. The new AK looks pretty good too, but I don't think Russia will be selling it any time soon.

FN Scar is that even a viable option? Is FN Hertsal going to give POF manufacturing rights and licenses to manufacture this rifle? I doubt it. Whatever new rifle Pakistan chooses it must be one that can be built at home.

I agree and if we can get FN SCAR with license than otherwise either try go for HK-417 or if not that than only option is MPT-76

Maybe Pakistan could equip specialized units with FN Scar rifles if it can get a deal to purchase them from FN. However, we are discussing standard issued rifle, rifle that will be given to every soldier. MPT-76 is more viable of the three options, special relationship with Turkiye could help us land ToT and the licenses from MKE needed for domestic manufacturing of the MPT-76. Of course, the other option is a modified G3 design.

Do you have any idea how expensive the SCAR is? Not worth it. Pakistan should open a competition for a new standard rifle, but not yet. Once Pakistan's economy is in order then do it, there is no rhyme nor reason to right now.

Yes and also Turkey just like was using G3 and now replacing it with MPT-75A

As I see we have only three options either FN SCAR or HK-417 or MPT76 and most easy for us is to get MPT76
An open competition would bring in a lot more options than these three. Though, realistically, HK-417 would be the easiest option, as Pakistan and HK already know what to expect from a deal, considering Pakistan's current standard rifle is the HK G-3.

A standard rifle would require a ToT and license production, especially considering the large size and nature of the military. Every consortium offering their rifle would have to agree to this, because it is simply a part of the nature of such a deal. FN, HK and MKEK, along with every other major rifle developer and manufacturer understands this already.

True, and the Turkish army seems to be very happy with the MPT-76. MKE has torture tested the rifle and fired thousands of rounds through the rifle and the rifle continues to perform incredibly well, it's a reliable system. If Pakistani army is looking for a new standard issue rifle they should certainly look at the MPT-76.

Why are you repeating what I said? See post #80.

You're implying that a major consortium would deny this happening. A stardardized rifle requires a ToT and license production, that is the nature of such a deal, FN, HK, MKEK, COLT and every other consortium understands this already. If they don't want to give such a thing, they won't even bother entering the competition and offering their rifle. As soon as they offer their rifle, they're practically agreeing to give ToT and license production.

It's the nature of the deal, and FN understands this. If they offer their rifle, they'll give the ToT and license production rights to Pakistan, because that is the only way for them to win the competition.

You obviously don't understand this part then.

Whatever new rifle Pakistan chooses it must be one that can be built at home.

Built at home means Tot and License needed for domestic production, you cannot build at home without the two. You need to improve your comprehension skills. I also refer to ToT in Post#82. You really have nothing to add to this discussion except for repeating others points in a rephrased manner.

Like I said you need to improve your comprehension skills, for you it seems everything needs to be explicitly put for you to understand something.

I don't disagree with this particular point, nor am I repeating anything. What you said was that you doubted FN would agree to any ToT, I disagreed. That's what I'm saying. If FN enters a competition, or offers it's rifle, they would have to agree to it, and I think they would. Just offering the rifle would imply they agree, but your comment suggested that they would offer but never agree to these demands.

I think I should have phrased my comment better, clearly there was some sort of misunderstanding, so I apologize, but I would ask you refrain from insulting my intelligence. You aren't the only one who thought of this point, others have as well.

Like I said you need to improve your comprehension skills, for you it seems everything needs to be explicitly put for you to understand something.
You're pointing to a part of the comment that I'm not addressing. I don't even disagree with this part of your comment.

FN has two manufacturing plants one in Belgium and the other in US. They aren't going to give ToT or license it is a very exclusive rifle. Perhaps after it is decades old and obsolete they may provide ToT and license to other companies but as of now they do not. A more viable alternative is the MPT-76, as Pakistani Government has strong relations with the Turkish government that owns MKE. AFAIK Turks were even willing to offer the T-129 so I don't doubt they would offer MPT-76.

Have you ever contacted FN? Why do you think they would offer ToT and license on their most exclusive and prized rifle?
