Folk and modern Chinese pop/ indie rock are all nice. In Taiwan , there is a very good music industry which is also popular in the mainland China. Chinese classical music has it's own indigenous root even though western classic is also present there.

Keeping our culture will be easy for us in Pakistan I have no doubt even regionally the languages are safe only on a national scale they may seem diminished and unrepresented. However I think the adoption of Chinese is not only strategic but it will open up Pakistan and benefit the average person as well as our institutions through collaborative projects in every scope, not just fighter jets. Through research and advanced academia we can further our nation.

We should proactive, not reactive, in realizing the immense importance and benefits of learning Chinese and taking action accordingly. You only have to imagine how important China will be in the future as it is already expected to surpass the US economy by 2025. English is important in this world precisely because US or English speaking countries currently occupy the higher economic positions in the world, rite? Well, why not put the same logic together and realize now the importance and benefits of learning Chinese, so by the time China does become the number one economy and a more developed nation than it is currently in 15 to 30 years from now, we Pakistanis can be right in there with our Chinese language skills allowing us to take part in reaping maximum benefits of this new era.

No it should not be taught as a compulsory subject. As optional i think even Hindi Sansikrat and Hebrew be taught if some one wants to learn.

Well, I do not know about Pakistan, But In China there are Hindi Lessons taught and Indian Cultural Dances are being practiced and Even taught there.... Well its a Good thing, dont Mix Politics with Cultural relations

but pakistanis should not be making chinese a natively learnt language out of their free choice.

In the end whether chinese, japanese, arabic, persian, turkish, french, german e.t.c.all can be taught with each ones priority....
