Muslims are mostly self-employed and stay inside their shops. I have never seen many Muslim farmers or miners or laborers. Muslim women are also much more socially withdrawn than Hindu women.

I am not sure wearing burqa can change your skin color permanently.. as genetic trait and pass on to your kids.. (in only 1000 year span).

They are all good explanations in part, and combined they provide the complete explanation. As rulers for several centuries, Muslim nobles would have likely picked lighter skinned natives for mating.

that explains only muslim gentry class... which was always small even when they were ruling.. I dont think the whole hyderabad muslims belong to gentry class... or descended from them

Oh.. Hyderabadi Muslims are not all fair.You go to places like Bolarum and beyond Shamirpet etc. Only Old city Muslims are fairer than the rest.
