@Chronos - I think its because after loosing strongmen competitions and beauty pageants to us Aryans over and over and over again a certain South Indian sage by the name of Levina da Vinci convinced her people that focusing on studies could be better. She told them in a very eloquent way that the South Indians could never be the cool kid at school but they sure as heck could be the brightest one.

So whereas most South Indians are socially awkward nerds....they do have good jobs and a better salary !

you should see his comments in the context of his own belief and what he said earlier. He basically holds rich/successful women in contempt, because he is a mass leader, he thinks he is better representitive of Indian ordinary dark skinned women than 'white skinned' women who might have come via priviledge.
Its more to do with class division(high class vs low class) than skin color... which is why he said to smriti irani.. 'we know your type of people'.

Oh okay. Btw a woman, privileged or otherwise, would make a better representative of women than a man who takes their complexion into consideration when talking about them ever would. And why should he hold rich successful women in contempt? What if one day the weak ugly women become rich and successful?

madam many dont know anything about the south and keep on blabbering, a south indian called shankaracharya re educated these north indians who were by then had become cultureless, and no one can beat a tamil brahmin in colour , brains or intellegence, and that stupid fellow sharad yadav talking about skin colour what a shame on him have you not seen dark coloured biharis and up boys selling mousambi juice and panipoori on the streets of hydarabad and bangalore, why are they dark? and what about dark skinned bihari women digging trenches for laying cables, how are biharis dark, and i have roamed a lot in north india, except for haryana, himachal, punjab all others are dark skinned, we southerners do not care about that, isro is successfull because of the south indian dark people, had it been somewhere in north india filled with north indians it would have been utter failure,

And I strongly believe that being called dark is not abusive, all our deities (whether Lord krishna or rama) were dark.
