Featured Shallow Water Submarines - The case for Pakistan

This requirement sounds awfully close to the Wyvern concept by BMT in the UK.

The philosophy behind WYVERN places considerable emphasis on taking a simplistic approach to design. WYVERN’s design is based on a generic requirement set, underpinned by open source design standards, equipment suppliers’ data and an assumed end user concept of operations. The use of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), military off-the-shelf (MOTS) equipment and allowing flexible equipment specification affords greater design tailoring to meet the varied requirements of prospective end users.

It is likely that Wyvern is being offered by MSubs route. However, Marlin Submarines is owned by Submergence group, as US company. A US company building Pakistani SWATS is interesting, to say the least.

...talk about coming full circle to PNS Ghazi...

PS: off-topic, but "Wyvern" is a fantastic name for a FGFA/NGFA.

These guys specialty is underwater unmanned subs used for Training of Submarine Crews in underwater tactics. There unmanned MASTT and MUST models are being used by USN and Royal Navy for Submarine Training. But I can confirm that they are NOT part of the SWAT project nor are they interested in this project. PN preference is to avoid US involvement in Underwater Platforms

If you say so. MSubs working on manned SDVs and UUVs. They have had many designs of manned submersibles.
I have a hunch that they would want to partner with BMT /BAE and offer their concept SWATS to Pakistan. However, their experience of manned subs is not beyond SDVs, and while the British government maybe desperate to support due to Brexit, their tie-in with United States presents a clear danger to INFOSEC.

MSubs is owned by Submergence Group and is a vendor to US Government. Working with them would be fatal to the PN program. The BMT designs would likely not be releasable to Pakistan, and if MSubs is offering them, it will seriously compromise Pakistan's desire for supremacy in the SWATS arena.

If there are any companies that are already building small submarines, they may present a better choice to PN for potential capability, platform and technology acquisition goals.

This and similar what they have been trying to sell for years.

Turks don’t have experience in Submarine Conceptualisation, design and certification. They only have experience in upkeep. Since no global manufacturer has recently made and deployed a SWAT for any Navy, hence like others Turks are free to propose only. PN requirement for a SWAT is 700-750 tons
Thank you.
