Shahbaz Sharif was target of Ferozpur Road blast: DG ISPR
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor said on Monday terrorists involved in Ferozpur Road blast wanted to target Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
“The plan was changed at the very last moment,” Ghafoor told a press briefing in which he also shared the gains of Operation Khyber-IV with media men.
Addressing a news conference in Rawalpindi, military’s media wing head said that Operation Khyber-IV has been completed successfully.
There is no organised terrorist's infrastructure in Pakistan, DG Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
“As many as 52 terrorists were killed, 31 were injured while four surrendered before the Army in Rajgal and Shawwal during the operation,” he added.
He further said that ground targets have been achieved in Rajgal and Shawwal due to the planned, integrated and effective operation against the terrorists.
The DG ISPR said that hundreds of explosive landmines were defused during the operation. About 95 per cent affected persons have been returned to their homes while 91 posts have been established in Rajgal area, he added.
He said that the clearance operation is in progress in Khyber Valley. Development phase is being implemented after clearance in tribal areas. He said Fata Reforms are imperative for development of the area.
The crime ratio in Karachi has been declined after successful operations of Pakistan Rangers.
