Education about puberty-management is very much needed from class 7 or 8.
Ultimately, education about sex will be learned automatically.

But learning about puberty at first is more essential, then sex-education. Many teens face many serious problems in their puberty just for having lack of knowledge.

But in all seriousness we are just moving towards progressive society. Its gonna take at least 30 years to clear the hoopla associated with sex before marriage. I personally believe a couple should be faithful to each other after marriage and they can do anything to find that right person including sex. Relationship can't always be about compromise, it should be about understanding. Life is too short fro compromising on every thing.

im open minded but something like that should not be tought at school level at least............. we study such things in medical because its necessary for our education and ppl come to us...........but in medical there is much contrast between islamic ethics and moral and legal ethics so as a muslim we prefer to follow islamic ethics

I suggest you go take a course on Islamic ethics yourself sir rather than smearing subcontinental culture in its name.

they are not teaching sexual health rather they are teaching safe ways of having sex outside marriage in other words the institution of marriage is being negated.

Infact that is what the parents are objecting to. it is funny that at class 6th they are teaching how to have safe sex without marriage.

Wouldnt it be wise to be prepared and teach your kinds early...ie. Right around when puberty hits...5-6th grade (some maybe later).

Obviously kids will experiment...we all do and if they do take the step of having sex, it is best that they do it practicing safe sex and contraception so it doesnt marr them for the rest of their lives...

Lets be honest....the Hera Mandis and Kamatipuras of South Asia are there for a reason.....Because our religion alone cannot suppress our basic needs as human beings.....
I'd rather that if my kid is going to go behind my back to go see a hooker, that he do so practicing safe sex....and if this means I have to teach him about this in 6th grade...so be it.

No need for sex education at school leave. Indeed sexual reproduction chapter of biology gives much detail. Internet is there. Youth has the ability to search from internet.

One can always segregate students and use female/male instructor for girls/boys.
I think class 6 is too early for India, class 10 will be perfect.

Dear doctor09, i went through those sites briefly and saw some of them, but not all as it was time consuming and quite alot. Yes, they need to include those material in sex health education, at least the existence of those Ahadith will shut the mouth of those who call sex education Unislamic. But that on its own is not adequate without the modern medical field. These education as somebody rightly said here should be taught to the parents as well, because of the lack of sex education, even the parents go through many difficulties, divorce, domestic violence, etc which directly affects the environment of the household-the kids will be the first to feel the heat. So yes, this type of education is very necessary, although as i mentioned in my very first post in this thread, that the age of pupils and the material taught must be considered along with the sensitivites of the society. Bring some good mullahs to tell people that this education is good for them, this will have maximum effect.

Thats a chance Im willing to take.....
If the fear of an STD or AIDS due to sex -education classes prevents my child from going to a hooker, then Its well worth it....

Alternately, I wouldnt want my son or daughter to be "pregnant" from casual sex....

I am all for sex education....
I hope people realize that sex-education doesnt involve "sleaze" such as the children viewing pornography....Its one of the most tasteless classes and usually is more of a turn off let alone anything else...

I agree with elmo's idea that parents should also be given this education so they know what is being taught in this curriculum as well as understand why it is important in this day and age...
