Sewer Cleaners Wanted in Pakistan: Only Christians can apply

. .
. . .
the major reason behind this is not to degrade christan but due to the reason that in Islam there is more strict requirement to keep clothes clean in order to offer prayer 5 times a day whereas christans have no such requirement on working day, there are many houses here where Muslim maids are also used for cleaning bathrooms otherwise there is no such restriction for any high level jobs

Balony....its racist and they should not demean a people like this. There is no excuse.

Why don't we look at it from other way round ,

Protecting their right and giving job opportunity to minorities :D

thats a small section of the christian community that indulges in this profession.they are doing it by choice..no ones forcing them.the thing carried on over generations and the occupation became an identity for them.Same like Qureshis are known to be Butchers..For us Butchers and sweepers have the same respect..
there is no caste system in Pakistan..not sure if this even qualifies to be called caste system.

Jack draws...are you applying? I am sure they will make an exception for you. Before you throw a stone...look inwards....who are dalat?

I and most Pakistani are against this. Its shouldnt be limited to any cast creed or.religion
Don't blame the messenger. It's an article in NYT. From the interview it seems that they are singled out for this profession because of their religion. In a recent movie “Article 15" — their plight was highlighted in India also - especially in the rural areas.

This is to defame us because of Jealousy of not having toilets and sewerage system. ;)
By the NY Times. Makes sense.
