CHAMAN: Security forces on Tuesday claimed to have taken three women into custody near the Pak-Afghan border in Chaman on suspicion of their links with a proscribed organization, ARY News reported.
The three women were arrested while trying to enter Afghanistan’s border town of Spin Boldak via Bab-e-Dosti (Friendship Gate) at the Chaman border crossing, according to security sources.
They said the terror suspects have been shifted to Quetta for further interrogation with regard to their alleged involvement in acts of terrorism and links with a banned organization.
The forces said to have detained the drive who brought the women to the border crossing.
Chaman is one of the two main border crossings along the 2450-kilometer-long border between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Pakistan has started fencing its entire border with Afghanistan as part of efforts to stop cross border infiltration of terrorists between the long and porous frontier.
Back in May, Pakistan had temporarily closed the Chaman border crossing after at least 10 civilians were martyred and 42 were injured in unprovoked firing and shelling from the Afghan side.
