Deaths have been happening for 100s of years, millions killed in Vietnam war, world war 1 world war 2, numerous other smaller conflicts. Great Bengal famine. What you see is how the world has been usually running. Sometimes its politics, sometimes its religion sometimes its ideology, sometimes its democracy or communism. In the end its all human greed and stupidity. Removal of religion will change nothing.

Religions take time to mature,improve and adapt, Christianity had their share of violence and death but it has improved, Hinduism had its share but it also adapted Islam being a comparatively new religion is going through its share of crisis. It will in time improve and adapt.

Yes true, but a lot of people have died in equal numbers for more for numerous other reason too. Behind all this weather it is religion, ideology or nationality the main reason is human greed. people fight for things who he identifies with. Some identify them self with their religion, others with political ideology, other with nationalism some for only himself or his family. Each is willing to do anything for their respective identities. Some will die for a religion while other will die for a nation. When people identify with only themselves, they become corrupt.
