Ehehehe...now you are trolling, what is your position, if any, for us to reach?
The solution I gave is quite prevalent in the world, many bigger countries do take the responsibility of the defences of friendly smaller neighbours. Barring that 271 km border with Myanmar, Bangladesh cannot be touched without going through India, and your seas are also protected through our naval bases in mainland and Andamans, so we are already a de facto protectorate of Bangladesh. So let's make it official, cut down your defence budgets, and live happily ever after.
Land boundaries:
total: 4,413 km
border countries: Myanmar 271 km, India 4,142 km
India and Bangladesh share very friendly relations, we have no border disputes etc. Unfortunately we do not share such good friendship with China or Pakistan. And Bangladesh sadly doesn't have the capacity to become our protector against our powerful enemies, so you see....
Please don't troll, we go to the rivers flowing into Bangladesh to supply you good manure for free. See, we are a friendly nation.
De facto protectorate? Why not cut all your military expenditures and let China protect you guys. They are building so called string of pearls... China is much bigger than India... Got more of everything... Let them protect you guys then... These are all typical meaningless bullshit we should stop arguing about. Bangladesh is a sovereign country and can spend and do whatever it wishes to to defend itself. India should see Bangladesh as their regional partner then their foe or little neighbor whom they can capture anytime. This kind of views will surely push it towards China. Something you guys can do without.
India shedding lands? Over my dead body! XD I see bangladesh's Hasina pulling that kind of shit.Your proposal can be considered if ever our country decides to shed some of its land voluntarily, but right now we are in no such mood. However, we can keep your proposal safely preserved for such a situation in future, and continue our discussion on the current situation. We can provide much better security to Bangladesh and let her spend the defence budget on other useful things.
