I'm not able to get it. According to SIPRI report, India's defence budget in 2021 was $76.6 billion whereas GOIs data shows that it was $70 billion. Is India spending more than it's publicised defence budget?

While the Brits were dominating the seas, the Germans focused on u boats and gained somewhat parity. We need to stop trying to match them in terms of quantity, rather advanced weapons systems, nuclear subs, ICBM's, 6th gen air craft and drones. Technology is a force multiplier. COAS should take note. We need to deply the Israel strategy here, always maintain a technoligcal edge over a larger hostile nation.

Easier said than done when India basically has access to the same level of technology and large amounts of funds for in-house research and development.

Only real thing protecting Pakistan is the nuclear umbrella and the conventional military it does possess, add in some well armed and trained locals, it should be enough to keep India away

And if you have plans in mind to go on the offensive then you'll have to look for non-conventional methods to take on India, so their conventional advantages don't put the balance in their favour. Again not much options in this domain.
