What's new

Scrutiny and possible actions against Pak for perceived or real support to Afg Taliban.

US needs Pakistan to deal with ISIS-K and other such elements in the area that may want to do harm to its western allies. So Pakistan will remain important for US affairs in the region. But Pakistan's leverage in the relationship is not what it used to be for the time being.

Sanctions against Pakistan will never be signed off by the administration unless it is meant to influence Pakistan in some particular way that will benefit the US. There is no case for it now.

These sanctions were in pipes since Obama. I've written about this extensively on here. Pakistan's largest trading partner for it's exports is the US. I don't understand how do you not engage with the only real superpower in the globe for so many years as actively as it was needed. At this time, 80% of the US leaders are against Pakistan. If active foreign policy was at play all these years, you'd see minimal damage.

Secondly, your post is very flawed. You guys like to think "America got humiliated", etc, etc. These same posts are visible to the world as "Pakistanis hate America" when you guys are just too emotional to be frank. To the US, this was an operation. When an operation goes bad, we shut it down without emotions. It's just that simple. Our focus needed to be on China and now trillions are being planned to be spent against China. Nothing has really "destroyed" America financially by being in Afghanistan. Again, Pakistan has always known it had issues with the US, and secondly, there was the Indian lobby factor. That's minimized now and it's just the post Afghan war era image of Pakistan and the US leadership. So somewhere you guys needed to bring blue suits and red ties. The US leadership hates dealing with current or ex military people, sadly, that was all Pakistan could offer. Send in civilians with authority, in suits and with aggressive diplomacy. You'll see results in two years.

Trust me, no matter what you try with the American establishment it's fruitless for Pakistan. We've lost 80,000 soldiers fighting a war that was imposed on our nation. In all honesty and I will be very blunt, I feel more pain for those 80,000 soldiers than I do for the 3,000 and some miniscule soldiers that died in Afghan part of NATO. We've throughout the Cold War put our nations safety at risk before the Afghan-Soviet War and were even threatened by USSR Nuclear Attack for supporting U-2 and God knows what else, for a nation that's 12,000 miles away.

They are going to sanctions Pakistan. It was already written on the wall.

How Pakistan specific these sanctions are:

Lol this partisan bill will never see the day of light. It is weak and weird people like Graham Lindsay behind it. Nothing will come out of this is another histronics false PDF alarm as usual and overreactions is PDF cuisine no sane US admin would pursue such policies for obvious reasons. The US is in geopolitcally a period where it doesn't want Pakistan turned into another Iran giving birth to few other nuclear states in the mideast as result

And this was expected. A bill has been introduced to sanction individuals, countries and governments that help Taliban. There is a Pakistan specific chapter in the bill. Its very similar to Pressler Amendment.

Who told our leadership to trust the Americans? How many times we will be bitten by them?
Let's see how IK wiggles out of this one.

one of your flags needs to be changed.

Is that so? I can change both if there is a reason to. How'd you like to see the American flags again?

Research on human brain shows when there is nothing positive and logical left to counter one with, the brain makes people insult and make irrational comments to hide their lack of intellect.

You are so very far off this time. I wish I could let you speak to our leadership so you can see their attitude on both sides. There is very strong anti-Pakistan focus and it has some input from India, but majority of it has been brewing since 2002.

US relationship with Pakistan has always been purely transactional. We are less dependant on the US today than we were in 90s. Completely alienating Pakistan is not in US interest. It will have implications for the US influence too. If US really sanctions Pakistan this time, and we really hope it does, then we do have our contingency plans in place. The general mood in Pakistan has shifted from "Do More" to "No More"

I am not now nor have ever been Anti- America.

the errors/slip-ups you make in your writing are not American but subcontinental

Marco Rubio writes "As such, it is an outrage and deeply offensive that your administration would put the blame for this disaster on our Afghan partners. "

Wow ! After 20 years and $1.5 trillion expense Americans failed to create viable Afghan society, government and armed forces. All these three pillars collapsed in 11 days ! Even the former President Ghani fled the country with $116 million dollars without informing the Afghan government. Just blame Pakistan for this defeat while absolving the Afghan society, government and armed forces for their own monumental failures.

I am a Chinese descent who grew up in Nigeria, went to school in Canada and at the end, "I LUV Murica". Continue to dance on my writing style. Try coming up with logical counter narrative vs. wasting time and getting personal.

We've lost 80,000 soldiers fighting a war
what a loada bullshit. when moron khan says this he means soldiers, terrorists and civilians all combined. sometimes he says 65k at other times it is 75k, now according to PDFers it is 80k
went to school in Canada
I thought Canada had better standards of education than is apparent from your posts

It's been "transactional" or you've kept it that way and didn't know how to manage it? The later is the truth here. Every time a nation to nation relationship is built and managed by militaries, it never gets to the Public. Results is this relationship.

Never though there are 80.000 Pakistani deaths. In what war ? As I know Afghan war during USSR, Pakistan only supplied ammunition, weapon, and maybe some special force operation, never has direct fight against USSR.

And during Bush invasion in Afghan, Pakistan is also not involved. Drone attack by Obama administration did make many victims as many Taliban run away to Pakistan and Pakistan civilians may become victim, but I am not suppose to reach 80.000 lives............

Apparently they kinda did Soviet planes regularly came to Pak territory and in Panjshir valley they had Pakistani forces disguised as Afghans helping the mujahideen (or misheard)
Look at the Panjshir valley assault part

Figure of 80,000 people

Let us examine a period between 1970-Present

Reference:

Who runs SATP.ORG ? unsure however sure seems detailed information

Do more you say?
ABSOLUTELY NOT !!!!

1977-2000 stats not included but easy to see how you can go from 63,000 to 80,000 people easily
considering India was bombing Karachi with Terrorist activities using cells like Kalbhushan

Source: Figures are compiled from news reports and are provisional.
Note:A large number of target killings, which many believe are carried out by the terrorists, backed by warring political parties, in Sindh were inadvertently left. Now that fatalities in such incidents have been included for the years 2011 and 2012, the data has been changed accordingly.
