that may be but the retard Nehru enacted socialist and protectionist policies that stagnated our economy and growth the system was known as license raj had India not enacted such a stupid system (due to Nehru's dumb a$$) we would we in a much better state and arguably even better than China had we enacted economic reforms earlier say in the 60's.... but you guys liberalized your economy 13 years before we did so it is not surprising who is ahead today but we will be on par within 20 years and definitely by 2050

license raj caused over 60% of the Indian population to live under the poverty line since it was ended in 1991 more than 30% of our poor has come out of poverty and into the middle class in the next 20 years our per capita GDP will more than quadruple and the number of people living below poverty will decrease to less than 15% and definitely single digits by 2050 Inshallah

During the period of the British colonization, i presume most of the invested infrastructure was built in the part of the modern India.

Since they can annually produce about 1.5 million tons of steel, whereas the Republic of China can only produce about 1/10 of its output.

quite ignorant to say the least look at what the British left you in Lahore Karachi and Peshawar yes we had a lot of there gems but we did not use them right license raj ruined our countrys economy and let me add on by saying that the Pakistani economy for the first half of the 1960's was in better shape than the Chinese and Indian economies of that time during Ayub Khan's era the Pakistani economy made impressive gains and reached high level growth while we faced hardship only after the poor results for the Pakistani side in the 1965 war your guys economy started to flail and stagnate

That's the thing, in China the government gives the order the companies, or the departments follow that order while in case of India the whole thing is messed up. People do as they want and rarely follow the government's orders to the full extent. A project for a 2km road for example, if they give the concrete to make the road the company would only use 60-70% of the actual and water it down to make it look more and do a terrible job and make a lot of money, I have seen this in Madhy Pradesh. But hopefully now the times are changing and people are taking more interest in the future of the country and hopefully they replace these old id*ots.

I think India has a higher possibility of getting F-35 for its navy.
