The Litmus Test for any possible Saudi leadership will come if/when Obama vetoes the UNSC Resolution for a Palestinian State. Turkey has put its neck out to support the Palestinians. And, for all practical purposes, Iran is castigated not because of it is some Mullah regime (which I do find anachronistic) but because Iran has championed the Palestinian cause.

Anyway, again, this topic is based upon a bogus logic in the OP. Many people here seem to know more than these experts.

Whether they interfered in the Hijaz or not, nevertheless they still played their role in pinning down the Ottoman troops in Arabia who otherwise would have been fighting the allies in other important fronts.




The Ottoman had the Kuvvie Murettebe led by General Mehmed Cemal Pasha along with 58th Infantry Division commanded by Lieutenant-Colonel Ali Necib Pasha and the Hicaz Kuvvei Seferiyesi (Hijaz expeditionary force) which was under the command of General Fakhri Pasha, Ottoman also had troops stationed at the port city of Akaba. Th Ottomans couldn't lunch any major offensives because of the strain on their supply lines, not to mention they concentrated on defending the Hijaz since that was their only source of supply.



But that has always been the norm there in Arabia, even before WWI.



In other words instead of helping the Ottomans, he watched them lose at the hands of traitors and their foreign allies.

That was jordan's fault not ours in the Akaba. And tell me what can he do to help the ottoman empire with a few camel riding sword wielding men??? When he noticed that there is nothing more left he went to unite the entire peninsula which in my thought was a good choice other wise you would have had another country in the Hijaz.

The Ottoman Empire wasn't dying, it might have not been as powerful as it once was but it was still the last Islamic stronghold left and Ottoman armies were still a force to be reckoned with. There were many advances made under the Ottoman rule but sadly Bedouin Arabs blew up the rail tracks that linked many parts of the empire to the holy land. It is due to the stupidity of bedouins that Muslims lost Palestine, nice going, you geniuses sure knew what you were doing.

Saudi Arabi's founders had every hand in it, don't try to hide the facts, i thought i already told you one liners are not accepted as an argument on this forum.

If im not wrong than Al-Saud family had been in war atleast two times in history but defeated badly so after the death of Ottoman Empire they took the control from sharif Hussain. But even if Ottoman Empire had not engaged in WW there was a iota possibility that it would have survived later incidents especially in WW2 Bcoz after Sultan Suleiman there was no good ruler to lead ottoman empire .
