RIYADH: Pakistani expatriates in Riyadh donated SR810,000 to flood victims at a fund-raising campaign organized by the country’s mission in Riyadh on Thursday.

The Pakistan Embassy organized the event in cooperation with a group of volunteers who were instrumental in making a large gathering of more than 500 philanthropists. One expatriate donated SR50,000 toward the fund.

Thanking all Pakistanis who were present on the occasion, Pakistan Ambassador Umar Khan Alisherzai told his countrymen that their motherland was faced with the calamity of unprecedented scale and nature and it was the paramount duty of all Pakistanis to do their part in sharing the burden of the people and the government of Pakistan.

He said he was very happy to see people rising above their political and other affiliations for a noble cause of extending help to their fellow citizens who were desperately looking forward to their assistance.

The ambassador also thanked all the countries that had extended help. He made a special mention of Saudi Arabia, which proved that it was a true friend of Pakistan and its people.

He thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for ordering to form an air bridge of relief supplies between Riyadh and Islamabad. He also thanked the government and the people of the United States, the European Union, UK, France, Germany, Japan, China, Turkey, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE and all those who had contributed in several ways to help the distressed people.

After 2005 earth quake, the Saudis raised our visa quotas for labour at the expense of reducing Bangladesh share. Since then many people have been able to rebuild their lives in dignified manner. I hope the same suit will follow again because recently Bangladesi labour visas were stopped due to rising crime.

I was born in KSA,and found saudis to be very generous and better than our most famous allies...
Some ppl are posting Wahabi money etc,a cheap standard thinking..we muslims being 1.6 billion, and still being not as productive as few million jews, the reason is Anti muslim agents trying to ignite Sect war among us.
Peace out!!:pakistan:

In every middle-eastren country, they prefer Indians and give them most quota.u will find 7 to 1 ratio of indians to ****..
