This has nothing to do with Islam and Muslims, it's just a territorial dispute based on ethnic lines. No one recognizes Turkish Cyprus anyway aside from Turkey.
Everywhere that Orthodox Christians targeted Turks, Circassians, Crimean Tatars, Kavkaz people, Bosniacs, Kosovars, Cypriots in the former Ottoman Empire lands, it was because they viewed them as Muslims and an enemy civilization, nation.
The way they are treating mainly Muslim refugees/migrants from Syria, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh in Europe should tell you something as well.
You need to comprehend the difference between the vassal states of GCC and the Arab people. Pakistan has a transactional relationship with these vassal states as they are merely extensions of a western/Zionist elite world order. We have seen recently how they have lost the ability to think for themselves and simply parrot some version of western led global interventionism every time someone asks them about real issues that matter. We have no problem with Arab people and indeed when their nations truly spoke for themselves, we supported them as brothers. But that concept of an independent representative Arab nation no longer exists.
Hence Pakistan supports its brotherly nation Turkey, a nation that is truly independent and represents the will of its people.
We Pakistanis, and our ancestors the Dilli Sultanat/Ghaznavis/Ghoris/Mughals, have stood by the Turks for more than 800 years.
Together we coordinated our policies against the Safavi empire of Iran and tyrants like Nadir Shah.
When the British recruited our ancestors to fight the Turks in Çannakale/Gallipoli, they gladly switched sides and joined the Turks to defend their land.
Knowing full well the British threatened to attack their families back home, and captured, stripped naked, humiliated, tortured, and killed many of the mutineers, but they were willing to put everything on the line for their religion.
Never once did we question or air any grievance against the Turks, whom were both our Khilafat (religious head,) our brave brothers in faith, and our dear friends and relatives.
Many people in the Arab world, esp in North Africa and Egypt, felt similar fealty towards the Ottomans.
If the Turkish military had not intervened and overthrew the Greek Cypriot martial law , a second Cretan genocide would have taken place. Indeed, 99% of this forum has no knowledge about the Cretan massacres. Because the pain of the Turks is only the problem of the Turks. Just like the Khojaly genocide, just like the Crimean genocide and many many others. We are used to walking alone on this road. But the hostility in the hearts is sad.
Even when our homeland Anatolia was under occupation, we fought against invaders in Tabriz, todays Iran. Our history of the Republic did not pass easily, we have experienced many foreign-backed military coup. But even once, we didn't watch the suffering of our Muslim brothers.
On the other side, that's why we love our Pakistani brothers. They came to these days in a similar historical process with us.
The whole of Pakistan stands firmly with the Turks. We will suffer any enemy and abuse for our true religious brothers. We would do this for any true follower of Muhammad saws and champion of truth and justice.
Definitely the unity shown by Erdogan and Imran Khan has made our friendship blossom to new heights.
I hope that in sha Allah, Pakistan will again publicly recognize Northern Cyprus (we did until 1983 apparently,) just as we recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as Azeri land.
We owe the Turks much for their strong support in Kashmir and Afghanistan for Pakistan.
Today the whole of the Muslim world, esp the Arabs, are witness to the tactless betrayal of Arab dictatorial regimes of the Muslims.
The whole Muslim world sends La’nat on these shameless puppets of foreign occupiers and their rogue hands like Israel and India.
