Saudi Arabia has said it is ready to normalise relations with Israel based on the 2002 Arab initiative proposal for peace.

In an interview with the Riyadh-based Arab News daily, Abdallah Al-Mouallimi, the kingdom’s permanent representative to the UN, said Riyadh is committed to the Arab Initiative for peace, which calls for the end of the Israeli occupation of all Arab territories occupied in 1967 and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital in return of normalising ties with Israel.

"The official and latest Saudi position is that we are prepared to normalise relations with Israel as soon as Israel implements the elements of the Saudi peace initiative that was presented in 2002," Al-Mouallimi said.

He added that once implementing the initiative, Israel will have recognition "not only from Saudi Arabia but the entire Muslim world, all 57 countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation".

"Time does not change right or wrong. The Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories is wrong no matter how long it lasts," the diplomat said.

Last month, Israeli media reported that a delegation of some 20 American Jewish leaders had visited Saudi Arabia and met with senior officials there, including at least six government ministers and senior representatives of the Saudi royal house, in an effort to review possibilities of establishing ties between Riyadh and Tel Aviv.

Saudi Arabia has repeatedly reiterated its commitment to the Arab parameters for peace with Israel expressed in the 2002 Saudi-proposed Arab Initiative.

Israel occupied East Jerusalem during the 1967 Arab-Israeli war and annexed the entire city in 1980 in a move that has never been recognised by the international community.

Israel, from even before 1948 onwards, had a nation-state in mind with good land and enough buffer land around. Their public BS aside, they have been and will continue to do whatever it takes to create their own Lebensraum.
The Saudi Peace Initiative fell on deaf years in 2002 and will continue to do so. As long as Israel had/has the most powerful military power, the USA, in its clutches, no real concessions were to be given and have not been given. At most a Bantustan was promised and that will be all given into the foreseeable future.
Unless there is a catastrophic regional war destroying many countries, including Israel, I think a Two-State solution is doomed. But I think one day a true Bi-national One State is the likely outcome.

Two-state solution is the best solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

'Facts on the ground' have made that solution impossible unless Palestinians are ready to cede fertile land in the West Bank in exchange for some barren land in the Negev desert. Otherwise, Israelis have systematically expanded their borders and even right now working on cutting off East Jerusalem from the rest of the West Bank. Only a regional war destroying much in and around Israel/Palestine is likely to lead to a viable Two-State solution.
But, as I said above, a Bi-national State of Israel-Palestine is the likely outcome in perhaps a few decades: One day Israelis will be 'woke' enough to thrown off their damn supremacist, Euro-originated colonialism mentality and embrace those whom they have displaced and persecuted for many decades. And I see that possibility.

You are right but per my understanding the exploding Palestinian population is largely a myth. Also, conservative Jews are also trying to multiply in numbers to counter any eventuality of a 'Demographic Timebomb'. Regardless, there will still be several million Palestinians living between Jordan and the Mediterranean and so the Israeli headache will not go away unless and until a solution is found or enforced by circumstances (a major destructive regional war).
