I was surprised how few people actually highlighted it on social media, and the mainstream media in the UK where he is from has it as a side story, I suppose he does live in the US now (NY city).

Not sure which media you are looking at but the main media outlets do have this as a lead story(BBC, Telegraph, Guardian etc).

The question that is the most interesting to me is why has this happened now after over 3 decades? Anyone could have attacked him easily many years ago.

The UK government have an agreement with law enforcement in the US for people like this, they get regular threat assesments and the usual venue security and their homes are target hardened with direct link alarms etc.

Interestingly the UK removed this level of protection from Prince Harry.

He didn't have any security at the venue at all. I watched an interview with him in 2017 and he sated he lived a normal life and had no such fear.

I'm looking at them all with Sky News on right now. They carried it as a lead story yesterday when he was stabbed and now it's a side story for the BBC, ITV and so on. The papers have it as a lead due to print and the 24 hours they need hence it will be a lead story. If he died it would be more prominent.
Most people don't care about the world of the wealthy and celebs. There are far more important things on. He left he UK 20 years ago and is a US citizen.
