Sad news, Pangolin shot dead

We should protect the pagolin as we should protect the snow leopard ad indus river dolphin. Many animals are endangered in Pakistan, unfortunately, i must say.
Even our National animal Markhor was in danger of extinction but nice efforts done by wildlife department for protection, now markhors are quite well in numbers and Govt allows to hunt old unproductive male and female animals for a very expensive single hunt license probably cost USD60000.

Trophy hunting programme: G-B sets $70,000 as hunting fee for markhors
GILGIT:

The Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) government has announced the licence fee for this year’s hunting season with Pakistan’s national animal Markhor topping the list at $70,000.

It is among most hunted animal......
It is hunted for its skin and scales ......
But what ever happened was just unfortunate..... poor Pangolin was at wrong place and at wrong time...... same goes for security guard who have NO idea what it really was......
But those people who played with it by poking it were indeed stupid..... I know most people like to "explore" strange creatures ..... but what ever happened to Pamgolin was simply unfortunate.......

I really don't understand this thread at all.

On one hand we have thread after thread on Beef ban and now this thread.

People are really difficult to understand.

same here.

in south india, pangolins are sometimes found in the sand in the sand lorries that have illegally mined river sand... the pangolins don't climb into the lorries but simply get taken when some excavator machine takes the sand.

some of these pangolins i think die... of what causes i don't know... maybe they get crushed or get killed by people or by the ever present dogs.

not many people know of this harmless creature.

and speaking of dogs, i must speak of the near-extinct status of the small cats and leopards in india... the dogs attack and kill people and cats but as you have may seen in my threads and posts about this topic, many people simply away laugh the incidents... until the laughers or one of their own get attacked by dogs, they will laugh.

well, i had announced that i won't speak much on political topics, at least for some time, so allow me to end my contribution in this thread. :)
The leopards are brutally killed in one case a video was uploaded on youtube of a leopard being put inside a cage doused in petrol and burned alive, the indian police were present yet did not even bat an eyelid, hundreds of bloodthirsty mentally challenged ghouls were cheering and dancing at the the demise of the poor and utterly beautiful animal, it was truly sickening..

I hate people who show concerns for some dumb animal by suggesting killing or skinning a human being -

Human life has no worth?

The security guard must be scared to death after seeing such a rare animal -
Not every one knows what a damn pangolin is - he must have seen it the first time - and people poking sticks at the injured pangolin are simply innocent but curious people - simple

I no away approve of killing of any animal or insect for fun curiosity education or money -

I must say People in Pakistan are heartless in this particular matter , Animals aren't even thought as living beings just look at the donkey carts the poor donkey is beaten to pulp , similarly let our people see a snake or something that they are remotely scared of , stones , bricks and sticks will appear out of no where , i remember an incident a constrictor was spotted in a park in Lahore and people killed it at the spot , why not call Rescue people or Animal welfare people
