the lesson you should have learned is that a huge plane is spotted on radar like a sore thumb
Radar technology has made more progress in the last 15 years than anything else.
PAF used only mid range jamming equipment, and the Sukhoi's radar has in trouble.

Lighter, smaller, stealthier aircraft with a decent radar, will spot you, and trump you.

SU 30 is a beast and still a top of the line fighter. If Indians couldn't utilize it to full of abilities then it is their fault not that of machine. SU 30 still makes bulk of IAF fleet so if your words are to be taken then IAF is a sitting duck.

India doesn't operates the Gripen and flies the SU-30 which in some instances is close to the J-11.
And in Indian hands, the top notch Russian air superiority fighter has been reduced to something called an AMRAAM dodger.

The J-11A uses exactly the same Russian missiles that form nearly the entire Indian BVR arsenal -- the R-27 and R-77.

So going by this exercise, the lesson learned is that it makes the 230 SU30MKIs and hundreds of MIG-29s or the bulk of the Indian BVR forces completely useless.

The J-11B, J-16 and the J-10A/B/C all use Chinese weapons like PL-8, PL-10, PL-12 and PL-15 and PESA or AESA radars. J-10A and J-10C dominated the Gripen in both WVR and BVR during the same Falcon Strike exercises in 2017, 2018 and 2019. India has no alternatives to the R-77 and R-27 so all those MIG-29s and MKIs are armed just like the J-11A.

If Abhinandan had the courage he would have taken the opportunity to blame Modi for weakening IAF and forcing him to fly a antique piece like MIG-21 against PAF F-16s.

But he just remained silent.

Talk about being overly simplistic, if one does accept the stated reasoning --- the Mig-21 Bison who had been eating the 15's and 16's in the Cope Indias wouldn't have its pilot being beaten to a pulp on enemy soil nor would the Typhoon beating MKI's biggest highlight in the IAF service would be running back to their bases with missiles chasing their butts i.e. the famed "AMRAAM Dodgers".

So let's drop the whole Raphale this Raphale that ... We've seen around 15 years of the fanboys doing that for the MKI and when the motherland called for the MKI to defend her honor, all they managed to do was run away (and even that claim is contested)
