Russian Warships Enter Syrian Waters To Prevent NATO Attack

Drive out UN? :lol:

what is south korea then?
and people are dying of hunger in north

man you guys are in deep sh... everyone who gets russian support is either losing or dying of hunger!!!

.
The real question is: Who wants to rule over Syria if Assad gets toppled? A western backed dictator who is no better than Assad? then my answer is HELL, NO.
It's up to Syrian people to choose whether they want Assad or not, and as long as Assad has stayed on power, I'd assume that he has enough supporters to remain on power.

.
I am not saying if he is a mulsim or not. Attacking Syria definitely favors Israel. It will be against the Islamic resistance movements in the region.
Hamas Leader has once said to the Arab countries, Syria is the only Arab country which is helping Hamas.

This is the problems with Wahabi they consider Alwai and minority muslims are kafirs. look what the wahabi's did to iraq saddam might have been a sunni but he kept the wahabi influence in check now you have saudi funded wahabi suicide bomber killing shia's and christian and I don't want this for syria.

Assad said after the elections if he loses he will step down and I can live with that.

@SyrianChristian,
You know your country better but my understanding is that it is game-over for Assad. It would be better if he finds a way to save his and his family's hide and seek asylum in some friendly country. No long prolonging the misery of the common people. Look at what happened to Qaddhafi: He agreed to a ceasefire, knowing fully well that he could not win against the NATO forces. But that was not enough. So the rebels kept advancing even during the ceasefire. Of course the story presented to the world is different. Is there any other narrative left in the world which prevails other than the Western narrative?
Assad should leave power now and leave the country. I don't think anyone will come to his rescue, least of all China and Russia. Iran is the only possibility but is not a big enough player.

.
so what was the out come? except supporting the LOSING sides?

Perhaps you should read the context of my reply to 500, 500 basically claimed that Russia does not have the guts to face NATO when history proves othwise. And what about the losing side? Korea was a stalemate. How does Russia shooting down NATO aircraft snooping around its borders corrilate to a 'loosing side'? When Russia sent troops to protect strategic locations in Egypt it did not have a crystal ball, nor did it matter to the Soviet Union if Egypt won or lost, the only thing that was important was that the Soviet Union protected its interests.

@PtIDM3,
'Soviet Union' is long gone. And Serbia was very close to Russia--may be like England-America to each other. And yet Russia couldn't do much when Belgrade was bombed by NATO. I wonder what would be offered to Russia to look the other way?
Syria's only and real backer is Iran. Ironic, isn't it? A secular Arab country finding support from a Persian theocracy.

And what is your point? The Soviet Union/Russia faced NATO before. Russia isn't stupid, did you expect Russia to openly start boming NATO in this day and age?

Even if Russia wanted to confront NATO it had zero money. 1999 was the fanancial crisis, the military had no money at the time.

Assad and Gaddafi are different situtation and NATO intervening is unlikely if someone intervenes then it will be turkey, rebels kept advancing because gaddafi army was weak, no point in leaving if Syria ends up like Iraq, We have 10x the military gaddafi did and could recuit up 10,000 in a week in syria in times of war a draft is placed, and as a last resort we have chemical weapons which we will use if we have no other option.

no just your top imams and suicide bombers are enough to destroy yourself :lol:

This is typical coming from a turk you take war as a joke this is no joke understand that.

Are you saying that the 'warships' are there for just for the show then? Is Russian economy better enough to put Russia's neck out for an Arab country.
The whole warship thread is a false-hope for Syria. It is not a question of guts or economy. Russia was always powerful enough to militarily confront NATO if its vital interests were at stake--yes, even during the 90's.

.
Not to mention we have a strong syria-iran backed government in Lebanon that will aid us, if turkey intervenes and arms the rebel you can expect us to get help from hezbollah.
