Russia tried a long time ago by force to reach these warm waters which was not successful. But now with the new corridor being formed Russia sees itself using the economic corridor and will try to strengthen relations with Pakistan after the government has been largely disenchanted by America and its policies.
Also Putin and Russia are an active partner with China in challenging American hegemony and thus are aligning themselves militarily, economically and this will fair well for Pakistan when it comes to relations with Russia.
Russian relationships will grow deeper with Pakistan as mutual trust increases, China becomes an effective catalyst and India moves towards the west. Indian relationship will still be strong but will lose much of the zeal it had one time and there will be no more Soviet help as there was once in time of war.

With India moving towards the US, the Russians are seeing where the tide is headed, and they won't stay on the same boat that's headed towards the very large water fall.
