VLADIVOSTOK, November 17. /TASS/. Units of the Eastern Military District received 10 new unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) "Orlan-10" and "Eleron-3" in 2016, head of the district’s press service Alexander Gordeyev said on Thursday.

"UAV units supplied with new aerial vehicles carry out tasks of visually controlling military training, the condition of military infrastructure facilities, verification of the landscape. Commander of the Eastern Military District Colonel General Sergey Surovikin put forward the task for the headquarters to develop and implement new exercises for training UAV units. New exercises should considerably reduce currently existing time regulations for spotting weaponry and personnel of an enemy," Gordeyev said.

The Russian military has used UAVs for air reconnaissance and electronic countermeasures. They carry still, video and infrared camera modules capable of covert detection of even well-camouflaged enemy troops at any time of day and night.

On average, the speed of the UAVs of the above types is 120 km/h, their maximum altitude above sea level stands at 3,000 m and their operating ambient temperature is within the -30°C...+40°C bracket.

https://sputniknews.com/russia/201611181047569859-russia-koalitsiya-self-propelled-gun/
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Russian Land Force's artillery brigades will begin receiving state-of-the-art Koalitsiya-SV self-propelled guns in the near future, chief of missile and artillery troops Maj. Gen. Mikhail Matveevsky said Friday.

"The planned purchase and supply of these complexes into the artillery brigades will begin in the near future," Matveevsky said. Koalitsiya-SV was first unveiled at the Victory Day parade on May 9, 2015, in Red Square, Moscow. Matveevsky underscored the automated weapon's innovative multi-round simultaneous impact firing capabilities, delivering several volleys at various trajectories to engage a target at the same time.

"The combat capabilities of the complex are double that of all existing domestic and foreign models," he stressed. Russia's state-of-the-art Koalitsiya-SV self-propelled guns will serve as the blueprint for robotized artillery systems in the future, chief of the Land Force's missile and artillery troops Maj. Gen. Mikhail Matveevsky said.

"We can speak about creating fully robotic artillery systems that perform tasks without human intervention in the future," Matveevsky said. Koalitsiya-SV was first unveiled at the Victory Day parade on May 9, 2015, in Red Square, Moscow.

"Robotization is one of the armed forces' priority areas. The development of the Koalitsiya-SV artillery complex is already being finalized. This model is the first step toward the robotization of artillery systems," Matveevsky stressed. He highlighted the self-propelled gun's unmanned combat compartment and its automated guiding and armament loading capabilities.

MOSCOW, November 18. /TASS/. Missiles with warheads based on new physical principles are being developed for the Russian Army, Chief of Missile Forces and Artillery Lieutenant-General Mikhail Matveyevsky said on Friday.

Robotization is one of the priority guidelines in developing the missile forces and artillery.

As an example he mentioned the Koalitsiya-SV, which he described as the first step towards fully robotized artillery systems.

"It has an unmanned combat compartment. All targeting and loading operations are performed automatically," Matveyevsy said.

Koalitsiya-SV self-propelled artillery guns will start arriving for Russian troops in the imminent future, Chief of Russia’s Missile Force and Artillery Lieutenant-General Mikhail Matveyevsky said on Friday.

"The planned purchase and delivery of these systems to artillery brigades will begin already in the near future," the general said.

The Koalitsiya-SV is unique with its multi-round simultaneous impact firing system when several shells fired from one gun at different angles simultaneously hit the target.

"The system’s combat capabilities surpass all existing domestic and foreign types by two times," he said.

Russian military is about to bolster its arsenal with a new potent addition – a next generation self-propelled anti-tank guided missile system.

This new development was unveiled by Maj. General Mikhail Matveyevsky, commander of the Russian Missile and Artillery Troops. "The planning of a next-generation advanced self-propelled anti-tank missile system operating on the ‘fire-and-forget’ principle has already been planned," Matveyevsky told journalists.

According to Maj. Gen. Matveyevsky, new anti-tank missile systems’ development focuses on improving the missiles’ efficiency, yield and resistance to enemy countermeasures, and further automation of the anti-tank units’ control.

At the present time, the Russian military employs Khrizantema-S and Shturm-SM self-propelled anti-tank missile systems. These weapons are capable of engaging and destroying virtually all types of tanks and armored vehicles, and even helicopters; and their radar and laser guidance systems allow them to operate both during day and night, under any weather conditions.
