The US can do that on its own for sure..but is it ready for a nuclear war?..;
Russia knows it can barely stand to NATO conventionally.. so it will for sure activate its nuclear arsenal (otherwise what is it made for if not deterrence!),, it has already activated the tactical part of it (according to reliable NATO assessments..)..

If you are weak and helpless, then hooligans, rapists, robbers will come. If you have a big gun, they will think twice. If you are ready for all out nuclear war then Putin will think not twice but many times more. If he is ready for that, for Russia lying in nuclear ashes.

The world is not made for dreamers and weaklings.

Germany and allies is building a common missile defense umbrella over Europe. He increases military spendings. I am happy Scholz is not a dreamer like Merkel.

Seriously, Russia is just important as energy suppler. If Russia has no nukes, nobody cares of. NATO is there as deterrent. nothing else. Russia offers little to nothing. Even Russia as consumer market is negligible. Now Russia role as energy supplier is gone, Russia is as important as Cuba.

If about the US they would rather spend more time and money on real threat: China. The Chinese play another league. Russia has no place in the future.

The 3 million losses line is not unreal for Russia, and this info is unjustly discounted.

1. You don't need officers to just herd draftees LPR/DPR style, street mobs do suffice
2. Russia has deep reserves of weapons of up to WW1 vintage, even WW1 Nagant is firing ammo Russia still produces, and it can kill
3. Ukraine is exhausting its heavy weapons stocks, so human wave attacks will be becoming relatively less costly
4. Producing supplies for such way of war would be possible for Russia even if its economy collapses

Ukraine needs massive, massive artillery reinforcement.

Can Russia physically produce at least 1m more troops with Nagants, and sewage pipe mortars? The answer is, yes.

Even if they, say, lose all of their strategic ammo stockpiles, which are reportedly already mostly depleted for artillery ammo, there is now way they will be completely out of small arms ammo, and mortar bombs.

Unless UA gets very decent airforce, which can suppress Russian huge air defence, or huge amount of long range missiles, they will not be able to completely block RU logistics. And what little ammo will be reaching Russian frontlines, will be enough to wage current large, low intensity warfare.
