Let’s say that’s a small step on escalation ladder. Not big one. Few days ago Russia army fired 20 missiles on Ukraine, killing 16 people including a toddler. Why I don’t see that you complain Russia escalate the war? Who contains Putin? Probably nobody in Russia because all oppositions are either killed, poisoned, thrown off window or in gulags.

That’s not the begin of a nuclear war. Depleted uranium is U238 isotope. a heavy metal with weak radiation. What’s worse? Be killed by a metal projectile or slow death by weak radiation? Russia certainly uses such ammo. The Russians have them since 1980s. There is no international treaty that forbids the use.

Agree - and this fishing trip of russian soldiers has done more "nuclear damage" to Russian soldiers than depleted armour shells will do ( well from the radiation part - not the explosive part ) :

Very difficult to destroy oil storage. Only Mugin 5 has that range. Mugin 5 costs 15,000 dollars on AliExpress. Out of 10 attacks, only 1 can succeeded. Cost exceeds benefit.

Does it even matter? Russia is getting a handsome amount of territory in return. Secondly, the inevitable is happening. Before our very eyes a new bloc is emerging. Russia is part of that bloc. It isn't all that bad for Russia.

European/American allies are still buying Russian oil and gas.

LOL we know why the Europeans and Americans are suddenly on a charm offensive and trying to get the developing nations on their side. The world is a divided place and emerging nations can have an alternative choice.

You have little to know knowledge of diplomacy. Thats what diplomats do. Thats why Russian foreign minister has been going up and down South America/Africa.
Its not just US/Europe.

I don’t where in your view the new bloc is emerging when only a handful of nations have supported Russia in the UN Openly….

And if this bloc really emerges, let’s see how many of the future immigrants from these countries will move to Russia and send remittances back to home. Yes ZERO. Nobody wants to go to Russia

Russia gained quite a lot of population since 2014. Almost 8 million from the Taurida and Donba regions.

Much like Russia‘s battle doctrine (outdated and can’t take on a puny neighbor), its way of expanding population is from a 15th century mindset.

Somehow despite this genius of 8M increase, its population is declining: in the 21st century countries from the middle east / Gulf and Europe make their nations economically progressive to where people from other parts of the world want to migrate to, in some cases even putting their lives at risk.

WHen the whole world’s population (not Governments) detest Russia, nobody wants to move to Russia , Russia decides to expand as if it’s 500 years ago, and still cannot reduce its population decline.
