Russia-Ukraine War - News and Developments PART 2

^^ could be risky but then again remember the first bridgeheads across the inhulets and the seversky donets river and what it led to few weeks later...
It's very risky, but knowing Russian incompetence the Ukrainians probably got this in the bag.

The coming weeks are certainly going to be interesting.

Bakhmut still standing

The leaked documents reveal Ukraine strategy in defending Bakhmut. Ukraine artillery working non stop decimating Russian troops after detecting by drones. Ukraine elite units are called in only when the encirclement is threatened. The Ukraine defenders withdraw from the ground to high rise buildings, from there they fire on Russians.

less than 8% of Bakhmut is under Ukraine control

and even that is disputed due to the conflict

that 8% is now engaged in fighting

Ukraine supported the war in Iraq in 2003
Stupid Sadam started war by himself with US.

1. Saddam got (banned) chemical weapons from US and he started war with Iran and used those chemical weapons against Iran.
Irani mullahs were also stupid and greedy, this is another matter.

2. Saddam used those chemical weapons against his own citizens Kurds.
3. When war not stopping and it extending to years, and Iraq was not winning,
Saddam ordered to hit US army target, US army was near Iran waters and US was against
Iran and supporting Iraq. Saddam wanted to directly involve US against Iran.
4. Later US came and destroyed all chemical weapons of Iraq in 90s in Kuwait war.
5. Saddam was Zia ul Haq of Iraq, he ruled Iraq almost 30 years as dictatorship.
6. US and her allies asked Saddam to leave the dictatorship. Otherwise they will attack Iraq.
But he ignored. Instead he came on TV and said Allahu Akbar 3 times and decided to fight.
He thought whole Muslim world will fight for Iraq.
7. In the end he got hanged. Lol

If you think Ukraine had to against US for Iraq, It was not possible.
Ukraine is in Europe and weak country. It was impossible to ignore US and Europe, just for an Arab country. Lol

There's no actual figure, and anyone who tells you that it exists is lying to you.

Bakhmut is so heavily covered by rhetoric fog of war that its unclear what is going on.

What we DO know is that after almost a year, Russia still can't capture it, and looking increasingly likely that they're running out of steam.

Simply geolocating buildings means nothing. An intense battlefield like bakhmut means that control can change within hours, if not minutes.

The Russians took those same buildings before and were forced to retreat behind the rail lines. This time they took it back, and who knows maybe they'll lose control again.

On a side note, as someone who thinks good of you, don't get so personally attached to this war. Russia is just as evil as other imperialist powers, and Ukraine is a corrupt shithole.

Keep things in perspective.

agreed I am no supporter of Russia

you might not agree but

as a Muslim I am just happy West and Russia are killing each other, and I have many times praised Turkey and Iran supplying both sides

it gives Middle East and Africa a well deserved break and this war speeds up Chinas rise

which in turn speeds up a multipolar world and US weakness even more exploited

For Russia to win this, they need to be able to match or outlast two things. Ukraine’s will to fight and west military budget . By this, I mean that Russia cannot win.

Western support ends when Biden loses election to GOP. There is absolutely no way Biden can win election next year. Domestic support is too weak.

Meanwhile, Russian support for the war is growing day after day.

Ukrainian forces 'cross crucial river' as they prepare to strike deep into Russian-occupied territory

Ukrainian soldiers have crossed the Dnipro River for the first time since the early days of the invasion and built positions that could be used to launch attacks deeper into Russian-occupied territory, analysts have said.

The crossing of the Dnipro River, which has marked the front line since Russian forces retreated from Kherson city in November, comes days after reports of a partial Russian retreat in the area.

It comes as Ukraine is widely expected to launch a counteroffensive, which analysts have said may be aimed at pushing 100 miles south of the Dnipro River at least as far as Crimea.

The US-based Institute for the Study of War said that video and photos have generated the first “reliable geolocated imagery of Ukrainian positions” south of the river.

“The extent and intent of these Ukrainian positions remain unclear, as does Ukraine’s ability and willingness to maintain sustained positions in this area,” it said.
