War is won with firepower. Tank is one means of firepower. The US did not win their many wars with tanks, tanks were used, though firepower was the means to achieve the objectives.

Bombs, Smartbombs, dumb bombs, missiles, rockets, field artillery, mortar, drone. These wipe out the enemy so tanks meet little resistance. So IFVs meet little resistance.

When you are prepared for the mother of all battles vs land forces and you are destroyed with air power, you are the Iraqi army.

It is the actions that happen before the tanks roll in that are king of the battlefield for US wars.

Russia OTOH have superior numbers in artillery, yet don't have the precision that the US had. If Russia has the precision in the next war, it would decimate Europe.

Mortar and field artillery is the best investment. If the enemy are not significantly softened up, your tanks are sitting/moving targets.

Only a matter of time now before Russia captures Bakhmut and moves on to the next target.

That is why we don't care, if Ukraine sues for peace, Putin is going to demand the entire donbas region. It is likely lost if Ukraine loses. So fight on and fight another day.

Its a flying bomb. My guess is most are completely destroyed once it touch ground. You might have noticed most footage are from drone survailiance - hardly any drones are capturing air defence operations.
Just because this war is documented in a way never seen before, doesnt mean something didnt happen just because it wasnt recorded.
About the Lancet. Every target is located by another drone, and the operator is guiding the Lancet toward this area. I think it is safe to say all successful Lancet strikes have been published.

When there are laser air defenses that protect from and destroy enemy artillery round and mortar shelling in the air, then tanks return as the premier weapon. While you can kill at range, it remains the superior way to destroy your enemy.
