Also Russian rotation from Kherson and now movement of strategic assets to Belarus is a worrying development.

US officials will "continue to monitor this situation" but see no reason "to adjust our own strategic nuclear posture".

"We remain committed to the collective defence of the NATO alliance," a statement added.

It comes after Mr Putin said he'd signed a deal to station tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus

Two days earlier, the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces refuted its initial report that "all Russian army units" had withdrawn from the Russian-occupied city in southern Kherson Oblast.

It's basically a scaling up of the 2014 / 2015 war. Back then it was rebels versus poorly trained and poorly equipped Ukrainian army in Donba. Now we add Russia and the West into the mix to make the conflict bigger.
