Weakness of helicopter are manpads, sophisticated mobile sams an fighter jets. Ukraine doesnt have enough jets but even if it had some more, Russian Buk S300 and Ruaf can still cover the helicopters. Ukraine can get f16s but F16s cant use unpaved runways like Mig29 and the prepared runways would be visible from satellites for a Ru cruise missile attack.

Ukraine can get mobile sams better than manpad avenger like Rapier or Crotale but the systems are more expensive especially Crotale. Helicopters advantage is they are long range vtol atgm platforms and nap of earth flight capability that protects helis from mobile sams. They can still shine if used correctly under uncontested territory in defensive mode employing stand off long range atgms far away enough from manpads mobile sams.

They need to fly nap of earth fully loaded with long range vikhr-ataka from Crimea responding to a possible attack coming from Kherson or Zaporijia with a few Ru fighter jet cover from Ukr attacks. F16s can take off from Poland that is a possibility but they would need to fly low to avoid detection from Ru sams and to avoid direct involvement. Having a few Sukhois high altitude in top down radar search attack mode would make F16s vulnurable to a2a mode if they take off from Poland and fly low to Zaporijia or Kherson to support Ukr land attack.

Helicopters need to strike from minimum 6Km horizontal range with flares and return for resupplies. Ground spotters would be necessary to alert the helicopters. If ground spotters are trained and are also capable to laser point the targets then laser guided missiles like vikhr can also be used in fire and forget mode from the helicopters immediately getting into nap of earth flight and into a secure location. There should also be personnel carrier helicopters as well that would carry atgm infantry teams to hot spots like Zaporijia in case of a possible Ukr armor attack.

As come on, shahed 136 is primitive than V1. That’s the reality.
Compare the tech specs. V1 can be assembled in few minutes, how many drones can Iran assemble in 5 minutes? Speed, bomb load, guidance system, everything in domestic made, mass production in Germany, while most of Iran shaled electronics and guidance is imported. Without those imported stuffs Iran drones can’t fly a meter. V1 has a turbine fan engine, while Shaled has a primitive 2 stroke 4 cylinder engine. How far can Shaled fly? How precise?

The funny, ironic and IMO most dangerous part of the Chinese support for Russia is, that Russia constantly claims, they are only "protecting" the will of Russian's in Ukraine who won't be part of Ukraine but live in an independent republic or even united with Russia. So what if Taiwan will indeed declare independence, will Russia - and even more so China - then also accept the vote of these peoples since they don't want to live in an independent "republic"!

Even more so, Russian's tell the world, that Russian's in Donbas and the other "republics" were not respected, their way of living, language and so on are not accepted and even oppressed ... while at the same time Russia itself grants NO-ONE in Russia in its won republics the same rights they demand for Russians in the new republics.

I know the answer already, but you cannot claim on the one side, the will of the peoples in a certain area is more important than the will of a nation even if you yourself gave guarantees for this nation's sovereignty and accepted the border for granted, while on the other side you deny the same right in exactly the same situation whenever it does not fit your agenda!
