Why not Ukraine?
They tried with just 5 tanks but it seems PA wasn't satisfied with it.

Why not Ukraine?
320... yeah but we dont have moneyGood question.
Vt 4 would not be over 250 units. Its inferior. Only tank good enough for modern battlefield against good armies is ztz99 series.
I don't understand this simple thing that we have money for Frigates,Subs and anaully one squadron of JF-17 but we don't have for long range SAM and to upgrade or built new Tanks. If we are able to buy off the shelf new Tanks why we are not going to use those funds for home made AL KHALID to increase its NOS.320... yeah but we dont have money
No need to upgrade tanks use that fund for navy and army air arm
Will it work in our desert. Hot humid and fine sandYes the engine is the test in Russian own modernization program of T-80. Basically it is same engine but improved for better fuel efficiency and horse power.
i wish it was that simple. but sometimes buying things off the shelf cost lesser then producing them at home, its simple maths. first of all R&D is a costly subject itself, then creating base and setup for production line itsef costs money, hell lot of money. at the end what will happen to that production line after fulfilling your own requirment. there the market competition and international geo politics will come into play, will you be able to continue the production line by exporting it?. all that combined with economic conditions and our international standing decides that we have to procure somthing off the shelf or we have to produce it locally.I don't understand this simple thing that we have money for Frigates,Subs and anaully one squadron of JF-17 but we don't have for long range SAM and to upgrade or built new Tanks. We already have production line for Al Khalid and we produce in good nos that's why i was asking that.i wish it was that simple. but sometimes buying things off the shelf cost lesser then producing them at home, its simple maths. first of all R&D is a costly subject itself, then creating base and setup for production line itsef costs money, hell lot of money. at the end what will happen to that production line after fulfilling your own requirment. there the market competition and international geo politics will come into play, will you be able to continue the production line by exporting it?. all that combined with economic conditions and our international standing decides that we have to procure somthing off the shelf or we have to produce it locally.
Which thread?I will update on the news in the thread in some time.
Imagine a similar Russian package for Pakistan T80UD as they gave to their T80BV to transform them into T80 BVM. T80BV is bit inferior than T80UD, so think about T80UDM here.Pakistan T80 have different turret as compared to Russian one .. Even we consider that the news is true than these upgrades are pretty good
> Relikt explosive reactive armor kit are very much better than previous gen ones .. and as per russian armour penetration is nearly half as compared to RHA
> Improved optronics , passive counter measure , improved missile firing ability ,etc
Yes.What is the official count of T-80UD tanks? 320 ?
Very old?I would suggest t-90 purchase rather than upgrades on a very old tank.
Not aware of any.
Not aware of any.
Based on a recent trip to HIT, it looks unlikely.
To be honest, HIT needs a major revamp. The guys have been sitting ideal for too long and looks they don't really even want to work anymore.
Brigadier general rank doesn't exist in Pakistan army. Its a rank of US army.Source
