There are several reasons but I will give you one that matters. Zero threat. Zero aspiration to be a military superpower. Unlike China and its hegemonic aspirations as evident in S China sea.

India posses zero threat to Russian rise back to being a superpower. Does not hurt that they have a huge market for Russian arms.

You've made yet another twist in this saga. Your claim of - The Russians would not want India to become dominant in its own region. I'm keen to hear more from you. Tell me how they influence such a stance and the motivation to take on an ally of decades. Finally, the purpose.

If you read a history of south Asia, from very beginning of Cold war Pakistan allies with USA, as a result India allies with USSR for balancing the region of south Asia, after breakup of USSR there were no major threats from Russia for west especially for USA but USA start considering China as a main threat for west because it is the emegering power of Asia and especially USA want to conceal/blockage China after 9/11, they want a country in South Asia that can stand against China , Pakistan isn't option for west because Pakistan is a closest ally to China, so you choose india as puppet of west who stand against China, and Pakistan moving toward Russia and almost tilt in the favor of USA to do the job against China

A. The US did not want to quote, "conceal/blockage China after 911" as you put it. If we wanted to do so- we would not have given them 500 billion plus in trade to get rich. We are their biggest trade partner.

B. India is not our puppet. In no circumstances do they impose on us as Pakistan has done throughout our alliance with Pakistan? the Pakistani alliance cost us tens of billions upon billions. Be it Aid; be it heavily subsidized military equipment or the cost of terrorism emanating from its borders. India and the US fulfill a dual role of mutual interest frankly. China is a hegemonic power ala S.China sea. And it is trying to assert hegemonic intentions with its ASEAN neighbors too. This affects India as much as the U.S. when over 6 trillion dollars of trade flows through the international waters and China is trying to control it. The Indo-Pacific region does not belong to China.

A couple of things. Those are U.S bases in countries that are a part of NATO and or have given us permission. We did not go take over their lands or seas like China does.

Second- Taliban was created after the Afghan war by Pakistan, not by the U.S. Seriously, a simple google check would verify the historical facts around their creation.

Al-Qaeda, meaning "the base", was created in 1989 as Soviet forces withdrew from Afghanistan and Osama Bin Laden and his colleagues began looking for new jihads. They met up in Pakistan while the withdrawal took place and hatched up this group.

Lastly, what are you doing in the U.S if we are so awful?
