BANGKOK (Sputnik) – Russia has completed the deliveries of BTR-80 amphibious armored personnel carriers (APC) to UN peacekeepers in Bangladesh, the APC manufacturer, Military Industrial Company (MIC) told Sputnik during the Defense & Security 2017 exhibition.

Previously, some media reported that Russia and Bangladesh in 2014 concluded a major contract for the delivery of about 330 armored personnel carriers BTR-80.

BTR-80 — an armored personnel carrier created in the early 1980s. It is an upgraded version of the BTR-70. It is designed to transport soldiers, fire support personnel in battle, to attack manpower, to fight anti-tank weapons and lightly armored vehicles of the enemy. The machine is equipped with a large-caliber (14.5 mm) machine gun, a 7.62 mm machine gun and a smoke grenade launch system.

Hmm, but isn't the logistics for UN missions is responsibility of UN? Did this delivery result from some BD purchase?

No logistics are provided by contributing county UN pay all the operating cost nd rent for the vehicle ,tank apc helicopter etc

How many unit were delivered is not mentioned.It is unlikely that all 330 unit were given this time.

Pakistan also uses BTR series for UN missions, BTR-70.
