Who said that Boilers of the INS Viky got damaged??? It was only the insulation firebricks (outer part of the boilers) that got damaged/failed, only they were changed with asbestos lining. There was never any need for a brand new boilers, besides if that was the case than ship repairing would had taken more time.

The problem was that Russians were used to asbestos but not firebricks which was the cause for the failure.

Sir, we are talking of Boilers of Admiral Gorshkov prior to its new rebuild.

For the sake of safety of people onboard the ship, i sincerly hope that is not the case.

Secondly, owing to my work, i keep referring to boiler and steam generator codes very frequently and am sure (unless there is some massive scandal), exploded boilers are never taken back in service especially if the shell (the part which contains steam) integrity is compromised, it has to be rebuilt and hydro tested again.
Another point, the use of asbestos is also puzzling. Asbestos is a cancer causing material and banned world wide. I believe what they have now used (in place of bricks) is Glass wool.

Its no banned worldwide yet. Still used in various quantites from place to place. India's environmental protection agency is Bullshit.

Massive corruption was involved in this project. The cost of the project ballooned unbelieveably, almost 3x the original amount. Maybe our gov;t does it to pay back Russia for keeping the Netaji issue hush hush. Who knows? This ship was a failure from the beginning. We should have invested on our designs. Whatever we lack get help for those key tech. Sure, it be more expensive but it would position us in the future. Instead, we bought this crap and intend on building our own. Go figure Russian junk. Smarten up like the CHinese. Buy a few, reverse engineer, and incorporate our own tech. The Russians for quite sometime have treated us inferior to the CHinese. They sold us T90 tanks that are subpar to the one in their inventory. We bascially got a shell fo they allow their army to field. Why are our standards so low? Don;t we care about our men? The British and others who came to India, destroyed our own system. They broke our back. YOu all must read our history. how can we plan for the future if we cannot correct the past? Today, In Delhi University, 80% marks are given for foreign philosophy. India has been the center of philiosophy for centuries? Are we idiots? Do we hate ourselves? Why cannot we correct the past mistakes? OUR FKING GOVERNMENT IS A PIECE OF ****. It does very little when it can do a lot more. We are quick to embrace foreign items even their education. We can only make India better by rebuilding our own system, learning from our own mistakes and taking it to the next level. Time to unleash all the pent up anger and frustation. I suggest you all to read up on C.K. Raju, one of the scientists who created India's first Supercomputer.
