Russia and China became the 15th and the 16th Province in Syria, and Syria is the 84th Federal Subject in Russia, and the 23rd Province in China.

Bro, Russia has a coming election in next month, and Putin will surely come back to power.

Meanwhile China will also have a new leader by the end of this year.

Syria should keep an eye during this period, since the West will likely take the opportunity during the power transition period of Russia and China to attack Syria.

We got the report that they originally planned to set up a no fly zone on Syria by December 2011, but thanks to Iran who has made the smart move of attacking the British embassy.

You don't know how dangerous and close it was.

I don't know about the future Chinese president, but I know that Putin is a pro-Iran Russian politician and during his presidency, Iran and Russia had similar views on many matters. He also came and visited Iran's leader personally and they discussed politics face to face. Putin is much less willing to take western friendship seriously and in fact he's certain that friendship with the west will bring nothing positive for Russia unless they both have same interests, but Medmedev had this delusion that he might be able to establish partnership between Russia and the west by avoiding a confronting stance against the western wrongdoings.

get real man.

u think india or anyone not named russia or china would survive the critisism and pressure put on by the western regimes?
HELL NO!

india, pakistan, brazil, south africa, etc are not strong enough to vote against the west and survive.

u gotta have a thick skin and balls to go against the west, russia and and china have that, none of the others have that.

russia and china are too powerful to be controlled by the west, others are to various degress controlled by the west.
if they ever go against the west, the western nations will make sure they crush them in various ways economically, politically, diplomatically, financially.

russia and china are the only 2 countries capable of not get bullied around by the american empire.
No doubt that Russia and China are formidable powers in the modern world who can challenge the west for WW3. but that does not make that the rest of the nations are weak or they serve the ultirior motives of the west.
Neither the entire west is corrupt nor the entire east is completly honest. Every one serves their interest in the UN.
if you still belive that the rest of the nations are weak, then i can not change you as its hard wired to your brain.

A question to all, China and Russia have vetoed this resolution right but what if there is an unilateral consensus between NATO countries and middle eastern states like Saudi etc (Iran will not ofcourse)to sideline UNO and go for it.

What will be the options for Russia and China?? After all though vetoed most seem to favor this resolution.

China wont be involved with Syria directly, but Russia will. They'll keep supplying Syria with everything they need. I doubt Russia will directly attack NATO, or NATO would attack Russia's warships, but it will be extremely costly for NATO to beat Syria with direct Russia's backing. Lets not forget Iran will leave its footprints too, as well as Hezbollah, and others.

first, syria isn't libya. nato military intervention will be that much hard given the concrete situation on the ground. second, syria still has more friends left, unlike qaddaffi who burned every bridge in the world (his befriended chen shui-bien, without any serious diplomatic consideration and just to "troll" china), and syria deals with other honestly and still has some friends in the region and in russia. third, the defeat of the u.n. resolution means russia and china are free to supply syria with weapons, making any nato misadventure more costly.

That's news to me. Medvedev doesn't seem too happy with the missile defence that the US created around them or trying to.

I don't think there's anything that China can do. China haven't completed the modernization of it's military. Small arms and ammunition is the best that China can do. However, there's a lot that Russia can do since they have a military base in Syria.

The next President is expected to be a hawk.

yes, but u.s. already planted plenty of spies who would incite violence, vote fraud in the russian election. even if putin wins the election in the end, he would spend extra effort to cope with these spies. no danger of that in the chinese election, but chinese leadership will be temporarily absorbed in internal matters as well.

i think the point is that syrians need to be really vigilant during the period and put an end to their domestic strife soon

I tell you one internal thing, most of the Indians try to convince US/ West because they think anyhow China with Russia are doing the ‘work’. And its true that we have at least two countries who may use Veto otherwise others can’t do the same, neither they can live without closes with West nor West will let them die so easily also as they mainly try to make slaves :agree:

A very good post to show how much people of developing countries are in need of China and Russia in world. even if China is now categorized as an Upper Middle Income country with per capita income above $5,500; China is still the only true developing country who may fight for the rights of poor countries, mainly for those very poor countries who can’t either live without aid of West, nor they can imagine that day when West will have converted them into true slaves if there won’t be any China and Russia :hitwall:

Congrats for China, the nation and their proud people, who will always share this pride as a savior of whole developing world who neither have any strength to resist colonial efforts of West, nor they can even dare to open mouth also and simply vote in favor of US for survival. congrats

China, the true leader of developing world :mps:
