Russia and China veto UN Resolution against Syria

we didn't veto the resolution to protect assad and have no duty to talk to him either. and as i repeatedly said, russians and chinese seek influence over their small neighbors but this influence comes in a very different form from the kind of influence anglo-americans yield and as such we cannot influence assad to do anything.

and secondly, like the russian envoy said, now the rebels are also well armed and also going for the kill, and it is ridiculous to ask russians to ask assad to disarm himself. again, we aren't talking about syrian people here. the people was killed when the first drop of blood was drawn and what we are witnessing is opposing factions who have lost the will to share the same political body with each other. no other nation in the world is entitled to dictating to the syrians how they are going to refashion themselves as a people and how they are going to emerge from this as a reconstituted people

and i cannot stress this enough: yes, china vetoed this thing out of strategic calculations, but since our strategic calculations always favor less interference than anglo-americans' strategic calculations (subversion is everything to anglo-saxons' politics and policies) and always accord other nations more protection and freedom, the most cynical chinese vote is always going to be nobler than the most "altruistic" american vote.

This sounds kinda "romantic" ... but the 3rd paragraph is unfortunately hogwash. PRC and Russia do subvert less because subversion is an art in which they are less adept.

PRC could be making the same mistake here as having supported Pol Pot. Having said that, this seems to be a sheepish "loyalty" vote for Uncle P.

There are no domestic struggles that are absolutely domestic. When a weak and prostrate China struggled against the Samurais with sharper swords, even old man Nehru lent material and moral help. We shouldn't forget that.

Having said this, I hold the same doubt as others whether Asad suffering the same fate as Qaddafi counts as "progress" or "democracy".

like clausewitz said, barbarians may be brave and smart (jews, anglo-saxons), but only civilizations produce diplomatic and military geniuses. you must have absorbed too much jewish-kinda-yellow journalism in uk and us to believe they are somehow masters of diplomacy. they aren't, and the appearance that somehow they are on constant diplomatic offensive on russia and china derives exclusively from their military strengths that are, incidentally, economically unsustainable. i don't hold anglo-saxon diplomacy and strategic wisdom in high esteem.

The Gay Girl in Damascus hoax, 'mass rape' in Libya, and press credulity [/size]

If you don't follow NPR's Andy Carvin on Twitter, let me be the first to tell you that The Gay Girl in Damascus is actually a 40-year-old American guy with a beard.

Through the efforts of Mr. Carvin, Ali Abunimah, and a few others, Thomas MacMaster was unveiled as the hoaxster. Mr. MacMaster said today that his wife, Britta Froelicher – an American listed as an associate fellow at St. Andrew's Center for Syrian Studies – was involved as a consultant. One of the better roundups on how MacMaster was forced into admitting his lies is on Ali Abunimah's Electronic Intifada blog.

But while MacMaster appears to be a garden-variety Internet troll, the Amina persona was boosted by the willingness of the conventional press (The Guardian, CNN, New York Times) and bloggers with major followings, like Andrew Sullivan, to accept what they were being told at face value.

:what:! Didn't think I'd get labeled that quickly after being away for so long and coming back so soon!

I was going to write a retort of some sort... then I remembered one of the reasons why I took a vacation from PDF in the very first place: too many false-flag ops. I have a vague idea what your problem is. You know relatively little about China or Russia. But your supreme interest in either or both countries is that they supply the "anti-problem" for your cause (an "answer" to the problem is neither sought nor obtainable by you).

Just for the record - as a small potato, I care about the "balance of power" in our present world no less than the "Anglo Saxon" Lords 2 centuries ago. One can be alarmed, yet not hysterical.

As I said, anybody can claim any allegiance on the internet and wear any flag.

Let's just say that my bosses in Tel Aviv gave orders that they really do want to cook Asad, preferably by roasting him over an open pit, slowly. But since these "barbarians unschooled in strategy" prefer not to deal with flammable "Cairos" on both sides, they'll just issue orders to Madame Secretary to stop at postures only.

Does that "confession" satisfy your inquisition?

you're absolutely right, our soft powers are too weak due to being too neutral and not aggressive enough.

The editors of China Daily and CCTV English should all be fired, and we should invite consultants from RT and Press TV. They should be paid as high wages as necessary to transform our feeble outward media into a strong instrument for spreading progress and socialism in opposition to the Anglo-Jewish system of global slavery.

true that. while us/western "free" press is filled with china bashing stories which is now accepted as normal, you will hardly ever find a negative piece about the us. china's soft power is very pathetic. and it doesn't do china any good promoting "peaceful rise" and using a cute panda to represent the country. how sad.

cctv english and china daily is pro-american.

critisizing america is banned.
they are trying to target american audience.

it make me puke that we are kissing upto those american dogs.

we need hardliners in power and make our media strong and expose american and british propaganda like RT and press tv.

we just accept china bashing by western media, while our global media kisses upto them.
makes me so angry.

These foreign language channels and presses all have hired the foreign employees, so it is hard to have them to be Anti-West.

Look, its clear that champions of US/ West want to target their opponents one by one and currently Syria is on their gun point. And as the next one can be Iran, as it looks like, it is very important to finalize most of the politics while dealing with Syria only as it will be disastrous when West will then proceed to Iran next.

US always have someone in their target and it is also doubtful why so many bad news are coming from Syria in a very short time? Is there involvements of foreign hands to organize so many internal conflicts in Syria while targeting Assad? As, we all know that current Syrian government won’t like to kill people on the streets with organizing mass rapes also, as claimed by few here. Mr Assad and his family have ruled Syria peacefully for a very long time to lead them on the path of higher success, then why would they do this now? Why so many things have started happening there suddenly and why US/ West is so much interested in just attacking Syria, but they don’t want to help the current Syrian government to fix their internal matters? I can’t understand how super power US, who has history of organizing wars and attacking different small countries, is ‘right’ while saying that attacking Syria by military means can solve their internal problems while other high ranked countries like Russia and China are wrong if they say that we would help the current Syrian government to solve the problems of Syria without going for any war? We can’t believe that a top reputed country like Russia, who has history of helping different developing nations in their bad time, is wrong if they say that internal conflicts of Syria can be solved without let them attacked by foreigners, while US is right if they say that the foreign military can fix all if they are allowed to attack Syria?

US+EU must understand that Russia and China are the two, out of five, most honored nations of the world who have permanent seat in UN with veto powers. And if these two top nations use Veto powers together because they don’t want any more war in this world and want to help the Syrian government solve its internal problems, then US+EU is also equally responsible to help the world to maintain peace

sure, nato can go in all on its own, but without a u.n. mandate, there is no legal prohibition against assad's forces' importing russian arms, and this may well make a nato illegal invasion quite costly. and just because european members of the nato voted for the draft it doesn't necessarily mean they have signed onto a nato military mission not sponsored by u.n. the french know well that there is a big difference between armed intervention in libya and armed intervention in syria.

Gibberish! You really dont know what you are talking about now, do ya, punk? Your post makes no sense whatsoever.

Global Times is the only anti-US and anti-British newspaper in China.

i am also ashamed that we are kissing up to the Anglos. it appears that we have not totally escaped the house slave mentality yet.

you should read my article on CDF about why Chinese "intellectuals" love America and hate Russia and Japan, its very interesting and will expose this sick slave mentality.

we need to take the offensive. otherwise we will be forever playing catch up and being slapped while licking their shoes.

yes you can. they do it all the time, its to destabilize opposing governments.

there is alot of sins of the regime, they will know.

we should be objective and report the real news as it happens, like the media blackout in ODC.
