I hope you and @Slav Defence realise how horribly embarrassing it is that you look in. Can't you please just ignore this? Please?

Sometimes I feel that PakDef encourages cretins from the Indian side just to show themselves and the rest of the world that we have a wide selection of such cretins. It's a very hurtful thing to do, to ridicule us by allowing these prancing pr*cks so much air time.
woha whoa, only one rating has been removed, other given by joe remains.

How can opportunists be culprit for the mess they want to exploit?

Mess created can be unmade. I am not going to talk in euphemisms anymore.

Congress created the mess and then exploited it in the later days.

BJP can solve the problem by making requisite amendments but instead it chooses to play the game of quota politics, ban this and that etc.

Both the major parties are culprits according to me. Modi speaks very well but the actions of lieutenants show otherwise - Less I say about all of Congress and regional parties is better - To quote Star Wars - You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy

How I agree with you!!!

It was easy even earlier, it is just that the religious right - you - had painted itself into a corner, and was enjoying the feeling of victimhood. This victimhood business is not isolated to minorities in our weird country, the majority community also embraced it.

Let us agree that the mainstream media are permanently mentally disabled, and capable of causing real harm.

On the other hand, I have no doubt in my mind that the Modi administration - not just Modi as an individual - is wholly communal. It is difficult to decide whose case to hold up for you to cringe away from, because each and every single minister, with the possible, partial exceptions of Sushma Swaraj and Jaitley, is a specimen by himself or herself.

You are entitled to say this, although my own wording would have been "....that rape case of the unfortunate Old Nun in Kolkata..."

You are also entitled to use any other example. I wish, personally speaking, very sentimentally speaking, that you had not used Tuktuk as one; she and Papeeha were friends from the Junior Statesman days, though we lost touch soon after.

It isn't clear at whom your finger is pointing, but if it is at me, sorry, wrong address. Since you are one of the older members, you must be aware of my hatred of the Congress and its decaying retardation of the country. If I speak up for secularism as we should have practised it, there is not the slightest desire to whitewash the sins of the Congress. It is better that it dies, and that Rahul Baba go back to the oblivion to which he rightly belongs.

What does that have to do with secularism? They are not the champions; as Bang Galore has pointed out somewhere, it was Rajiv Gandhi's terrible failure of judgement and his surrender to the unprincipled actions around the Babri Masjid that created much of today's situation. They just used the term cynically to signify their neutrality trending towards the vote bank principle.

I have no doubt that you will find sufficient mistakes in my post to be able to reject it.

I wasn't pointing finger at you Sir, I meant in general terms. Have always enjoyed reading your posts and would never get personal with you. And apologize for that I brought up that case, I am sorry didn't knew.

Don't blame them - the existing narrative and conditions promotes such thought process.

Farmer Suicides? This forum is a platform to get even with our neighbors for most of us - any way what relevance does farmer suicides hold for those who can access internet?

Farmer suicides are a very real problem but don't think anyone cares about them except for making political points in election season. Unless a problem affects us directly often we often brush it off in a case of selective amnesia. In any developing and aspirational society you would see a similar problem. Unless a society is socialist or developed - poor are the least of the problems to the ones who are still fighting for a better status which covers most of us who are on PDF.

agree to most.

to your last line, i am not rich myself but i being a socialist ( despite not living in a socialist/developed society ) consider it my duty to not only talk of problems, whether in india or elsewhere, but also talk of solutions through political change brought through scientific progressivism... i had to struggle a lot in life... shouldn't that make me concerned about others in similar oppressed circumstances?? how can someone look away when sufferings??

to your point about platform, pdf is a international or transnational platform where there is a mass and where can be exchanged progressive ideas... what use of all the people here if they only seek to maintain status quo and not exchange progressive ideas??

okay, it being seen as a military informations exchange certainly limits the management from presenting it as a social issues and political ideas forum, but why should that stop the gathered mass from using it seriously??

Many people like Bal Thakeray , Praveen Tagodia on one side , Akbaruddin Owaisi on the other side are openly supportive of actions favoring their respective religions. Again there is the "so-called" secular brigade - leaders like Lalu,Mayawati , Mulayam etc who adopt a version of secularism that aims at exploiting the insecurity of minorities for their political interest.

Modi had the right idea when he says " Appeasement towards none , progress for all". However , India being politically fragmented and heterogeneous at every level that matters , its difficult to implement a uniform code or set of standards for everyone. Until then being a democracy , one must tolerate differing opinions but no matter how many opinions - it is constitutional change that will really impact a section --any section of our population , Christians , Muslims or any one else. Constitutional change will never take place on the recommendations of a lone group or even a group as large as the Sangh. If it of any consolation to the Pakistanis and by extension , all those foreigners who aren't aware of how things unravel in India ( surprisingly all Indian muslims know this just too well -much better than people from Pakistan or the Islamic Council so eager to badmouth India ) -- Even if Modi wanted to change our secular constitution tomorrow or even ten years later , he wouldnt be able to do it.

There are many incidents of Caste based Burial sites to Boycotting Dalit priests do you want me to post everything ?,Due to that many are returning to Hinduism through Ghar Vapsi
and the saga never ends... I really not interested in such debates... PDF is not right place... and again you are talking like innocent. .. ghar wapsi???? when hard core Ultra religious people get involved in such thingy... results will be otherwise. .. don't quote me if you want to talk on this issue.... why we don't worry about other problems. . than religion. ..

Only thing that's unfair is people are too scared to call a spade a spade. But ever since BJP and more specially Modi came to power it's easy for people to question the way we practice secularism in our country. I wonder what if Congress had won the elections, would we still be debating about how we abused this term? or would we be gloating over victory of Secular forces over a mass murdering bigoted Hindu?

Our main stream media painted Modi communal back in 2002, I don't know for how long they will keep on persisting with this communal angle or rise of Evil Yindoos theory. We or I specifically don't demand special privileges for hindus but at least treat us equally. I saw how people twisted that unfortunate rape case of Old Nun in Kolkata, and I saw how that Quiz master came out all gun blazing lusting for Hindu blood. But that same guy was demeaning Tuktuki Mondal just because Hindu right wing demanded justice for her.

So, my apologies Sir but I don't believe this demand for "lets follow Secularism in it's truest sense" is out of genuine change of heart. Rather it seems like a weak attempt to whitewash sins of Congress and present them as a born again Real Secular alternative under the dynamic leadership of charismatic Rahul Gandhi to communal BJP.

That's my take on this whole thing, I might be right but if wrong, will accept it happily.

Good. Atleast you present your views non aggressively. So you won't be thrown off the site like Kiran anytime soon. ;)

There will always be few oddballs like you. Gen-Pop is not so socially conscious.

About PDF it works as well as it can given open membership, we are talking with civility on social issues aren't we? Doubt it would be possible in Indian forums. I would be promptly called out and swamped with non - sense.

.
we do follow a pretty warped version of "secularism" here, it should be discarded.

we need a proper uniform civil code and real secularism to stop pandering to people because of their religion, minority or majority.
Yes right i fully support you go ahead and bring uniform civil code in India. :D then i will love to see after math

. .
My emphasis was more on the undemocratic way it was done, do you support such arbitrary methods to slip in a word or two. It's funny you talk about equal rights to all,
Have those words changed or altered the constitution? No they haven't... You can remove the word secular but that's seldom going to change the constitution.

I don't see Muslim women enjoys equal rights as given to women from other religions. For eg. Shah Bano case, triple talak, 4 marriages.
Aah the forever concerned Sanghi.... Don't worry mate, we can discuss about the rights enjoyed by women in all religions but in some other thread, not really the right thread to speak on about it.

not happening, relax.
I hope so...:coffee:

This line is wrong they are enemy and they will remain our eternal enemy as long as there will be Muslims on our land , there will always be enmity between India and Pakistan (a country tailor made for Muslims ) , Indian Muslims are an asset for Pakistanis bcoz they know deep down inside most of them support that old Sultanate time era .
Good to know your views....

Good to know your views....

Sorry ?
My post is more about Pakistan and India plus views of Pakistani about Indian Muslims rather than Muslims.

This line is wrong they (Pakistanis) are enemy and they(again Pakistanis) will remain our eternal enemy as long as there will be Muslims on our land , there will always be enmity between India and Pakistan (a country tailor made for Muslims ) , Indian Muslims are an asset for Pakistanis bcoz they know deep down inside most of them support that old Sultanate time era .

Whats so disturbing about it?

Self explanatory I guess...
