As per Pak armed forces tradition, all senior officers who have been super seeded...resign....while course mates will continue till the time of their retirement.
In certain instances coas have asked one or more of his senior officers, who have been super seeded to continue....a request which they may or may not entertain...their prerogative.

most will retire as they will not like to serve under junior but alot of them are collegaues and same class/1-2 behind so some do stay
