The first solar power plant in Iran’s Yazd province, jointly financed by Iran and Germany, was officially inaugurated on Saturday, February 3.

The power plant was opened in an official ceremony attended by Iran’s First Vice-President Es’haq Jahangiri and Minister of Energy Reza Ardakanian.

With a nominal capacity of 10MW, the solar power plant has been financed by the joint investments of Iran’s private sector and a German investor.

Based on the contracts signed between the parties involved, the purchase of the power produced in Yazd solar power plant will be guaranteed for 20 years by Iran’s Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization.

The project to build the solar power plant began in June 2017 with an overall investment of IRR 500 billion [about $11 million].

With the first largest gas reserves and the fourth oil reserves in the world, Iran is a global hydrocarbons giant. The Iranian policymakers, however, are very eager to develop renewable energies to increase energy security, reduce the country’s dependence on hydrocarbons, and realize its growth targets in electricity demand.

Iran’s topography is quite appropriate for renewables and that makes the fulfillment of these objectives pretty realistic and probable for the Iranian government.

Iran enjoys a great diversity in its climate and vast arid regions. The southern, northwestern and southeastern regions of Iran receive around 300 days of sun per year, and thus are uniquely suitable for solar energy production.

According to the data released by Iran’s Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology, the government has given particular priority to the country’s central regions, including Yazd, due to its climate and proximity to the national power grid.

With the recent removal of sanctions, Iranian companies now have greater access to a wider range of increasingly sophisticated solar technologies and financing to purchase and develop them. The immediate benefits will be rapid installation of technologies and, in the long-term, the country is likely to gain the ability of producing a significant amount of its solar infrastructure domestically.

I found this picture
I hope answer your question
n3576410-6268821.jpg

http://www.irna.ir/fa/PhotoNews/3576410
that picture is completely misinformation , Our air pollution is mainly small particle and what made them is industry and drying up marches and deserts not the vehicle you just look at
http://air.tehran.ir/en
http://airnow.tehran.ir/

its just in Tehran if you go to west of Iran or central Iran the small particle even become far more prominent.

blaming the vehicles for majority of the pollution is just pointing finger at usual suspect so you won't had to go after the guilty one which is usually wants alot of harder work not as easy as order half the people not to use their cars

this data belong to the last year
تعداد روزهای آلوده به لحاظ آلاینده

Stations ------- CO ---O3 ----NO2 -----SO2---- PM10 -----PM2.5 ------AQI ------ تعداد روزهای برداشت اطلاعات
All Stations ------- 0 ---- 7 ----- 3 --------- 0 -------- 5 --------- 95 ------- 102 -----------------365

if small particle was because of vehicle then you must expect increase in these parts too
  • Carbon dioxide (CO2) - Because of its role as a greenhouse gas it has been described as "the leading pollutant"[5] and "the worst climate pollution".[6] Carbon dioxide is a natural component of the atmosphere, essential for plant life and given off by the human respiratory system.[7] This question of terminology has practical effects, for example as determining whether the U.S. Clean Air Act is deemed to regulate CO2 emissions.[8] CO2 currently forms about 405 parts per million (ppm) of earth's atmosphere, compared to about 280 ppm in pre-industrial times,[9] and billions of metric tons of CO2 are emitted annually by burning of fossil fuels.[10] CO2 increase in earth's atmosphere has been accelerating.[11]
  • Sulfur oxides (SOx) - particularly sulfur dioxide, a chemical compound with the formula SO2. SO2 is produced by volcanoes and in various industrial processes. Coal and petroleum often contain sulfur compounds, and their combustion generates sulfur dioxide. Further oxidation of SO2, usually in the presence of a catalyst such as NO2, forms H2SO4, and thus acid rain.[2] This is one of the causes for concern over the environmental impact of the use of these fuels as power sources.
  • Nitrogen oxides (NOx) - Nitrogen oxides, particularly nitrogen dioxide, are expelled from high temperature combustion, and are also produced during thunderstorms by electric discharge. They can be seen as a brown haze dome above or a plume downwind of cities. Nitrogen dioxide is a chemical compound with the formula NO2. It is one of several nitrogen oxides. One of the most prominent air pollutants, this reddish-brown toxic gas has a characteristic sharp, biting odor.
  • Carbon monoxide (CO) - CO is a colorless, odorless, toxic yet non-irritating gas. It is a product of combustion of fuel such as natural gas, coal or wood. Vehicular exhaust contributes to the majority of carbon monoxide let into our atmosphere. It creates a smog type formation in the air that has been linked to many lung diseases and disruptions to the natural environment and animals. In 2013, more than half of the carbon monoxide emitted into our atmosphere was from vehicle traffic and burning one gallon of gas will often emit over 20 pounds of carbon monoxide into the air.[12]

but you don't see that so the majority of those particle are not from combustion

look at the sources of small particle
  • Particulates, alternatively referred to as particulate matter (PM), atmospheric particulate matter, or fine particles, are tiny particles of solid or liquid suspended in a gas. In contrast, aerosol refers to combined particles and gas. Some particulates occur naturally, originating from volcanoes, dust storms, forest and grassland fires, living vegetation, and sea spray. Human activities, such as the burning of fossil fuels in vehicles, power plants and various industrial processes also generate significant amounts of aerosols. Averaged worldwide, anthropogenic aerosols—those made by human activities—currently account for approximately 10 percent of our atmosphere. Increased levels of fine particles in the air are linked to health hazards such as heart disease,[13] altered lung function and lung cancer. Particulates are related to respiratory infections and can be particularly harmful to those already suffering from conditions like asthma.[14]

if they want better air they must think a way to protect wetlands

Luxury plans with minimum efficiency, which will lead to increased electricity prices, right at the time of economic pressure on people.(interestingly all European countries are cooperatiing, the same ones who refuse to invest in our gas and oil sector).
And it's done by the same government which increased the taxes on hybrid cars by 1000%!
same government which signed another shiity deal to motage french shiity populating cars for 25 years!

at this scale these are useless , they had to made them a lot larger if they want to build something meaningful
something in class of these two

I won't give up about this topic and I seriously believe that future energy belong to renewable energies

new wind farm

Construction of MAPNA wind farm in Aqkand, East Azerbaijan Province. Twenty wind turbines, each with a capacity of 2.5 MWs, will provide power for households in the region.

we should make 100 of great solar power planet in north of Persian gulf for sole purpose of turn Sea water to drinkable and usable water or else ...

. .
100 percent agree
specially now, which they are starting transfer of Mokran sea water to Yazd.
when they start this project !? I didn't know about this !?

anyway ... we can produce enough energy to purge water during day time and don't bother ourselves with complexity of saving energy or worrying about stability of electricity network on nights ...

This is a fucking disgrace. Larjani is busy stealing money and raping Iran of its wealth than to building and developing Iran. This is why everyone is running from Iran to Europe or Canada. Theirs no hope with this much corruption and stupidity. Its almsot like the IR are American agents because they have done more damage to Iran that U.S can ever do.

transferring water from Persian gulf will cause problem for Persian gulf b/c of its closed cycle would cause increase salt. The Arab states south part of Persian gulf already create problem for sea b/c of their activity to sweet waters but Mokran sea has direct access to ocean and we can get as many as water we want.
