with the port at gwadar, china does not expect its friendhsip with Pak to "cool" in medium to long term time period.. also.. Pakistan is a valuable ally to put India in check (other respects as well but in this case, Pakistan is simply invaluable)

well, would not say rubish post or anything like that. It is point of thinking. we can depend somewhat on china but not 100%. Because today or tomorrow the time will come and teach us a lesson depend on one partner. But do we have any other option other then china. We are talking with Russia but nothing confirmed yet. It takes years to build relationship and seconds to break up.

As far what i have seen in this forum, most of our fellow pakistani members are carried away by china and chinese goods. Freindship is good but dont let that kill u and ur countries economy. Its no good to rely on one dude forever. Its like the ultimate theory of friendship, "Never share all ur secrets and weakness to one single Friend" it could bite u back one day and u never know when. According to my simple economics, allowing chinese goods into pakistan without any restricion, just for the sake of brotherhood, wont save Pakistan's homegrown industires.

well it i true but in Pak China case this do not seem to be aplicable! both these countries need each other! it seems that the chines are helping us for nothing, its not the case! although they are our very close friends but still they also have there intrest in the region. study about the Gwadar Port and you will get clear!

anyhow for you concern, pakistan is not fully depending on chines! we have modified there system according to our requirment to such an extent that almost in all cases we get a new system, the FC20 and AWACS are good examples! also the fact is that we get the technology from them and afterward we are making the equipment in Pakistan, AlKhalid and JF17 are good examples of this case!

chines goods huts USA local industries europe industries and china knows it's not work for long time that's why they try to go africa and asian countries. USA and China trade in billions still they don't trust each other. It's always give and take i want to know pakistan looking for money who come to help pakistan. I just wanted to pose a question on Pakistans reliance on china for all its military hardware.

Do you think the relying on China too much will hurt Pakistan in the future?

The chinese are not fond of muslims very much as you can see from the recent troubles in China and the past record against muslims.

What is there to say that when Pakistan is totally reliant on them they will deny pakistan of the support.

They did that in the 71 war against india. They never came to pakistan help then.

I believe they are using Pakistan for there own gains.

Pakistans mistrust of the west is making it totally rely on china is not good thing in my view. I think its like putting all your eggs into one basket.

Also Chinise Hardware is not reliable and has many flaws in it. Its a knock-off of the western hardware especially Aircraft.

If China is not reliable because they have some problems with some Muslims, then who is reliable? Did US treat Muslims right in Iraq and Afghanistan? Did UK treat our ancestors right when they were ruling our land? Are the Muslim countries willing to help each other out?

China has territorial disputes with India.
Pakistan has territorial disputes with India, if Pakistan was smart they would never let this ally, China, leave us.

India is a threat to both China and Pakistan, but its more of a threat to Pakistan than China. If India blocks more of our water like they did last year, Pakistan will become the poorest country on earth because our economy is run on agriculture. The Indus river that flows from Kashmir into Pakistan is the lifeline of Pakistan and we cant trust India with that river so Pakistan must work with China in getting Kashmir. They have their territorial disputes as well with India and many Chinese are determined to get those areas back from India.

Pakistan has to stand on its own two feets, yes I agree but we have to work with our allys who are in a similar situation as us and are willing to work with us for mutual interst.

Lets clear few facts of history. During 71 war Chairman Mao order to mobilize Chinese army, but it was stopped by Pak General. A huge confrontation raise between Mao and Kessinger at that time, When Mao accused Kessinger for doing nothing to support Pakistan, Instead giving India free hand. But Mao was very firm to move army to fight with India.

u still hasnt gotten the point.Its not all about Defence. Is chinese goods flowing throughout pakistan good for Pakistan's homegrown industry? is it good for Pakistan's economy? Jobs? etc etc. A nation is not all about defence, is it?. Defence and millitary equipment are just one part of the puzzle.

The idea is to get Pakistani goods flowing in the opposite direction -- Indian friends should practice what they preach - they should stop allowing Chinese goods from entering Indian markets.
