Pakistan has urged the United States to use its influence for making India behave as a responsible state in order to bring stability and peace in the region.

This issue was raised during the recent visit of US Secretary of State John Kerry, where he held in-depth discussions with Pakistani political and military leadership.

“Latest developments in the region particularly the ongoing operation against terrorism and the rising tension with India came under discussion,” sources privy to the meetings held with Kerry told this correspondent on the condition of anonymity.

“Kerry was asked that President Obama should take up Pakistan’s concerns related to India during his forthcoming visit to India,” sources said, adding that “Kerry was urged that President Obama should put pressure on Indian leadership for resumption of dialogue process with Pakistan in order to resolve all outstanding issues, including Kashmir”.

Don't worry about my title.

This was most likely done under pressure from the US. With the US moving towards India, this was likely a diplomatic way of appeasing India, before Obama's visit. Pakistan likely agreed to it in exchange for cooperation against militants in the tribal region (After US forces withdraw), and make sure that Afghanistan doesn't get funny ideas like they did during the 40s through to the 80s.
